'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Carew In Confident Mood

John Carew is confident Villa can go to Anfield and get all 3 points this Sunday.

Speaking on the official site Carew talked about his last Liverpool victory back when he was playing for Valencia in 2002. He didn't score in the match, but gratefully claimed an assist and he sees no reason why Villa can't achieve the same this weekend.

'It would be great to do the same with Villa. I'm sure we've got the capabilities to do that.

'It will be a massive test but we know we have the capabilities to go away from home and pick up three points.

'It would be fantastic to get a result.'

Capabilities seems to be in vogue of late when discussing the Liverpool match. Silly thing is, we all know we are more than capable of pulling a result out the hat and really getting our season back on track.

A draw would not be a bad result by any stretch of the imagination and is slightly more plausible given our form of late.

But if the players are up for it, and we can find our form again there is no reason whatsoever for us to be scared of them.

As ever it's down to us.

Not sure about the three points but you need at least a draw from this game or that 4th spot is looking very iffy.

Does anyone outside of Birmingham actually expect Villa to finish fourth?

if you can just draw there we'd be grateful!

We're not going there to help you lot out merlin, but if we can do you a good turn while rolling over Liverpool for our own benefit, then so be it. Word of advice though merlin. I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you.

Big John Carew has a very important part to play between now and the seasons end, presuming of course that he's allowed the playing time by MON, following the arrival of the so far disappointing Emile Heskey. A fully fit and all fired up John Carew is a huge plus, certainly the best target man I've seen strutting his stuff at Villa Park since Peter Withe.
