'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Support The Team, DON'T BOO!

Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand is interviewed in this months GQ.

Nothing extraordinary there I hear you say and what has that to do with Villa anyway?

One question and one answer:

When Arsenal fans booed Emmanuel Eboue, what did you think?

I thought it was wrong. It's detrimental to your team to boo your own players.

No further comment needed or as BarosBarryBouma so brilliantly put it:

It pains me that somebody has to even think about writing this article. And in answer to those who say "we pay our money, we can boo if we like", I would say this: football watchers pay their money and boo the team. FANS don't boo UNLESS they are trying to make a major point about the way the CLUB is being run by the owner/chairman. It saddens me that teams such as the barcodes can rely on absolute fan support unless they are fighting relegation and not even trying, while some Villa fans are prepared to boo a team that has completely exceeded all expectations. So what's it to be today, Villa fans - cod and chips or prawn sandwiches?

A lot has already been said about this, but no one commented here to say that the booing was not aimed at Gabby, it was aimed at MON for not trying to make any tacticle changes, leaving his favourites on when they are not performing, and constantly playing players our of position. Not only during the Spurs game for for the last few months. As I remember, it was a sarcastic cheer in the nature of "at last". Nothing to do with disliking Gabby. OK, he is off form, but he will get it back just the same as Drogba did!
