'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Doncaster Verdict

Put simply O'Neill is disappointed that we couldn't kill the game off and save ourselevs and extra fixture, that said he's glad we are still in the Cup and we will be going for it.

Speaking on the official site after todays unfortunate draw against doncaster Rovers O'Neill was obviously disappointed, but refuses to be too downbeat over the additional game.

'In the course of the season it's another game but this is the FA Cup and I will take it.

'All the games will mount up for us but I am just delighted to still be in the competition.

'The FA Cup is very important. You could tell that from the side I put out. We didn't want to go out and at the moment, we are still in it.

'We reached the final in 2000 which was great but the last few years we have played Manchester United a host of times and lost.

'We are still in it and we'll be looking to progress at Villa Park. I am hoping the home tie will hand us the advantage but I am still worried about the replay.

'I was very impressed with Doncaster but they didn't play any differently from how I expected them to, having watched them twice.

'They are a fine footballing side and they'll be wondering why they are in the position they are.'

We knew Donny wouldn't be push overs but I thought we had enough about us to progress through this round. Plenty are wondering why O'Neill didn't stick on Harewood or even Delboy and give Gabby a fellow striker to play off, but we didn't lose and without sounding too confident they won't find their trip to Villa Park easy with the home fans behind us this time.

These MotM polls after every match, is Petrov ever not the winner???

A great 0-0, on another day Agbonlahor would have got a hat trick, Donny also had some great chances. It's a great result in a way for Doncaster because it guarantees a good pay day in the replay and hopefull the money for O'Driscoll to spend on keeping Rovers up.

Where was shorey playin?

Good point Bandit - I didn't see the game, but judging from the line up you might hazard a guess Shorey was playing in Young's role at Left Wing? Interesting if true...

I enjoyed the match. Donny played well and I'm pleased to get a crack at them at home to progress.

I'm assuming Shorey got 22% of the vote from Doncaster fans?
