Villa To Extend Acorns Sponsorship

Villa have agreed to extend the shirt sponsorship deal with Acorns Children's Hospice Acorns Children's Hospice.

Another FANTASTIC gesture from Randy Lerner and the board of Villa.

This will be the second season Villa give the sponsorship - worth potentially millions to some commercial enterprises - to the children's charity for nothing.

Wouldn't it be nice to see some other clubs follow this gesture and help out other struggling charities and lets face it, with this recession, all charities struggle.

David Strudley, chief executive of Acorns, said: "There are 1,600 life limited children living in our region. They do not have time to wait for the help they need, we must reach them and help them through their situation. Acorns must not let these families down.

"We are calling on the community now to think about all they can possibly do to help us throughout the year, from volunteering to fundraising. We need people to come forward and help."

I think it's a marvellous gesture but you'll be shi****g yourselves if FIFA bring in a salary cap based on the clubs income.

No complaints from me. Its a gesture that in this day and age, with money, money, money being the name of the game, shows that at least one club, our club, remains in touch with the real world.
