Set out below is a cut and paste from my comments on earlier threads. It s not a case of I told you so. All I say is you cannot tell anything in football, and therefore you go out to win every game. Villa were 2 0 up and it could have stayed that way. We could all be celebrating another great win. But football is totally unpredictable. Of course I'm totaly gutted after the 2 - 2 draw, but the point remains we are not good enough to pick and choose what is important. Let the results do that for us, not pre-determined decisions to opt out of the odd trophy or two. The fact that we are all gutted after today's 2 2 draw underlines football. Perhaps for anyone bar Man Utd and Chelski, it is always a bit of a lottery. We can prove nothing about the impact of resting players. There is no proof of what might have been. The only thing we do know for a fact is we threw one of our lottery tickets away last week, and todays result makes it all the more galling. As I said in my earlier posts: It is totally possible we will not win at Vila Park against Stoke with our rested players back. I fully expect and hope we do, but that is not the point. I just do not believe the result next week will be determined or significantly helped by our being rested. What will be, will be, and nobody can ever prove anything about ifs and buts. But what you can do is try and win every match.
