Luke Young Looks For Stylish Finish

Luke Young Looks For Stylish Finish

Disappointed that we have no chance of silverware this season, Luke Young has called on the them to treat each game as a Cup Final and to finish the season in style.

We have 12 matches left in order to secure a Champions League place, and being 4 points behind both Chelsea and Liverpool and 5 points ahead of Arsenal, each of those 12 matches are key games.

Speaking on the official site, Young said that all in the camp are disappointed with the previous 7 days but are raring to get back on track and get back to winning ways:

'This game becomes very important now. We need to get back on track with a win. The manager has made the league his top priority and we have 12 games to go.

'They are now so, so important - massive - and they will shape our season.

'There will be a sense of occasion every time we play - and it will be like 12 cup finals, no doubt about it.'

Allowing a few insights into O'Neill's prematch talks, Young continues:

'The manager makes it clear beforehand just how important every game is with his demands for a performance anyway.

'The minimum requirement for every match is effort and application - and that certainly won't be lacking in the run-in.'

Effort and application are two things that have not been lacking this season, in many ways it's the effort that has seen us rise to this position in the league.

'Stoke are a very tough side to play against. Every team which has faced them has known they've been in a game - it's been a really physical battle and I don't see it being any different this weekend.

'We have to match that desire and determination to do well.'

Whatever the reasoning for our early season loss to Stoke, we must be better prepared and this time we will know exactly what to expect so their can be no excuses for a failure to secure revenge.

Just dont let them get any throws! Or is Delap still injured? I just hope they don't crock Ashley. He takes a lot of knocks from teams like Stoke and we can't afford him to get injured. Lets hope we get an early goal and that will force them to come forward and not to be too physical. Can't afford another draw like against Wigan! UTV!

Delap suspended I think. Or injured, he's not playing. An early goal would do us wonders, come on the villa! I'm popping a shandy open right now as a blessing for the game. 3 - 0. ashley, james and emile.

Attack from the off, make the most of it as we wont be playing them next season. We may be able to do our goal difference the world of good.

The game against Stoke could be more crucial than it looks. Anything less than the three points could actually ba a disaster and the Potters will be fighting for their lives. All the rotation which led to a UEFA capitulation will look darn silly if you don't win against Stoke today.
