Delfouneso To Fly Like An Eagle?

According to the Croydon Advertiser Crystal Palace are eying a loan move for Villa's young striker star Nathan Delfouneso.

In an exclusive report they quote Eagles manager Neil Warnock a man never short of a few words (!) saying:

'Delfouneso is one of the players on our list, but that's all it is at the moment. Of course it all depends on whether the club will let the player go.'

Speaking about another club's player Neil? Naughty naughty. I can just imagine the stink he'd make if someone did that about one of his squad!

With the arrival of Emile Heskey and the return to fitness of John Carew maybe a loan spell for the Fonz wouldn't be a bad thing, it would at least get him some regular first team experience. What do you reckon? Will Martin O'Neill be tempted?

still think he may have a part to play in europe or the fa cup, for me he is above harewood in the pecking order and therefore has to stay. would be good for him though if he could go on loan for the rest of the season.

Loan would be great for him, but I can't see it happening while we are in Europe and the FA Cup. He will be needed for those fixtures.

I'm pretty sure Marl is still ahead of him, he was getting sub appearances ahead of Delf any way. If he goes out on loan for a month does that mean he won't be able to play UEFA cup games after his loan?
PTP
I suppose with Gabby, Carew and Heskey backed up with Marlon, it is a good idea to get teh Fonz some valuable experience. As long as we can recall him if needed.

If it's in the Croydon Advertiser you better beleive he's on his way!!! Why on earth would we off load a player when we have 3 games in 6 days and a small squad?? Ridiculous.... He will play his part in future games this season for Villa when we're on top in games and can afford to rest a player....

Bit risky - what if Gabby gets injured? He's a good man to have on the bench. If the loan move is short, maybe, to hone his sharpness, but a month would be my limit.
Saurat
The move would do him some good, get him used to played competitive games on a regular basis, but as said above i guess its down to where in the pecking order of 5, MON sees him. Plus we could always put a 24hr recall clause in the agreement incase one of the other 4 forwards pick up a long term injury.

I see Heskey, Carew and Harewood as a similar mould of striker, with gabby and The Fonz being the option. So if MO'N wanted to give Gabby a rest and still play 442 I'd presume The Fonz would play then?
Tierney
Is that because they're all big or something?
PTP
No too much pace available up front if Fonz is away and Gabby is injured...bad news for a side that particularly threaten via counter attack
NorthcliffeBandit
we need the fonz. he is important
Gruck
So, why not have a 24hour recall on him? So if Gabby gets injured we can recall Fonz, coz to be honest, he has sat on the bench in the league this season without so much of a sniff. Surely its better for him to be playing every week?

Bring back Stieber! ;-)
