Price Freeze On Most Villa Season Tickets

Villa have released information about next season's season ticket sales and are looking to help fans due to the credit crunch.

The Villa site says:

Aston Villa are putting next year's season tickets on sale earlier than ever before to help supporters spread the cost of watching Martin O'Neill's trail blazers.

Season tickets will go on sale on Monday February 16 to fans renewing their existing seat or buying additional available seats.

In addition, any supporter wishing to purchase a season ticket for the 2009/10 season can also do so from Monday.

Supporters signing up for next season can take advantage of an easy monthly payment plan that will run until the end of July.

And most fans who buy before the end of May will get their tickets for the 2009/10 campaign at 2008/09 prices.

The cost of watching Martin O'Neill's exciting young team will still be amongst the lowest in the Premier League, with prices ranging from 295 to 510 for all renewals before June 1.

The cheapest adult price for a season ticket has risen by 30 to 295 for the North Stand Lower, still representing excellent value for money at under 16 per game. Prices for the Holte End, Trinity Road Stand, Doug Ellis Stand and North Stand Upper will remain the same before June 1.

Head of Consumer Sales Nicola Keye said: 'By bringing the date for renewals forward and providing an easy payment scheme to spread the cost, we hope to make a difference to those supporters who follow the team every home game.'

Should help a bit to know the prices aren't going to go up as long as you renew early. Would have loved a price freeze full stop but this is still a good gesture. Someone mentioned in the forum that Barclaycard do a 0% card to buy season tickets, might be something to look into to those who are going to struggle due to the credit crunch.

Isn't a price freeze still technically a price rise since VAT went down 2.5%? ;)

You are correct on the VAT.Good Spot. This is indeed a price increase that I imagine Randy will selfishly squander on the club.

THOSE KEY RENEWAL DATES ARE THE LAST DATE THAT YOU CAN SECURE YOUR TICKET BEFORE IT GOES ON GENERAL SALE TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!!

yes EvertonMike, shame on Randy, shame on Villa and shame on Gordon Brown (I only actually feel shame to one of those three, can you guess which?!)

not sure Villan444 but can find out if you wish, but I think those key renewal dates are the dates at which you renew your season ticket at this years prices. After that you will still have a time to renew your season ticket but they will I assume be at the new season prices.

You may joke but 2.5% of 500 quid is $12.50, every little counts! Although we are run by A man with a triple mortgage on his house, hoping to get into bed with Tesco to save him the embaresment of trying to raise money for stadium improvements/new stadium. So he'll probably do his version of 'early bird price freeze', by freezing the prices from the non early bird last season, so everyone still pays more but he can claim to have frozen prices again. Which I'm sure will be put to increase our transfer budget from a fiver and Van Der meyde, to a tenner and van der meyde. ' Watch this space'

I may have to relocate to lower north, building site carpentry a bit scarce at the moment, trust us to get good when a recession starts.

your prices seem pretty good for an epl club ,considering how well villa are doing this season i think the board are doing well by the fans here.In my experience when the team starts to do well the board usually see this as an opportunity to get extra revenue of the fans!

Not much option but to freeze prices , as we have only sold out a couple of times at home so the demand isn't really there yet . The West Midlands being the manufacturing hub of the country will get hammered as per usual , well more than ever before in this downturn. Lets hope people start spending again but it's not very likely anytime soon is it ?
