'If It's Football, It's Vital'

England Future In Milner's Own Hands

Martin O'Neill has said that James Milner has plenty of time to impress in the full England setup, despite being again selected for the U-21's.

Speaking on the official site O'Neill said Milner still had 'piles of time' left to work his way into the 2010 World Cup Finals, and being a regular in the U-21's will keep him in Capello's mind.

'He will be delighted to get about his 7,000th under-21 cap!

'I think he has played more for the under-21s than he has for us - and I'm including his first loan spell here.

'He has scored a goal for us this afternoon - and he's also missed a chance from a yard and a half out too - I'll have to remind of that one!

'But, joking side, everything he does for us is brilliant. I can't think of anything he does for us that doesn't deserve praise.

'He has been brilliant, absolutely brilliant and I think he is coming on really, really strongly.'

Milner is nowhere near the finished product yet but he seems to be improving almost on a weekly basis since joing us from Newcastle. The price we paid for him may still be questionable, but if he continues developing at this rate, can improve his final balls, keeps chipping in with the goals and so on, then his fee will soon become as irrelevant as the money we paid for Ashley Young.

his crossing has improved I thought, he's looking a lot better than his 1st game for us this season. Which was expected, and the guy just keeps running and running and running!

I think in the long run , milner will be as valuable a player to us as ashley young .His workrate and game on game improvement has been fantastic .I was not convinced when we spent so much money on him but again MON got it spot on .pksandell totally agree with the davies /upson comment, shocking from capello.
