Martin O'Neill LOVES It At Villa

Martin O'Neill LOVES It At Villa

Martin O'Neill - no doubt relieved albeit frustrated that the transfer window has closed - says the season has been 'terrific' so far and wants the players to keep on keeping on despite the amount of fixtures that they face.

The Villa boss explained on the official site:

'When you see players at the end of a game absolutely and utterly physically drained, you have to have a lot of pride in them. That was the case in the dressing room this weekend. They couldn't have put one more ounce into that football game. I have a great regard for the team.'

Makes you wonder what the hell some of the nuggets were booing for at the end of the game? Even Steve Bruce admitted he'd never seen a team of his under the kosh so much getting away with a point.

O'Neill also says he realised the team aren't the finished article yet but says there is a resilience, 'we're in there and we don't give up. We keep going.'

And he says there are no easy games for Villa, 'It is relentless - absolutely colossal. There is no respite - you have to keep going. Our win at Portsmouth feels like 10 minutes ago.'

The manager, who some Man Utd fans think of as FUM (future United manager) proves his love for being at Villa!

On Villa he says; 'It is really fantastic. This football club is wonderful. It has a fantastic history. It is really a privilege to be manager of the club. It is great.'

And he also says he is enjoying himself saying he loves it. 'I always say I haven't enjoyed a football match for 15 years but that is a joke. I love it - it's really great.'

That is just lovely to read, or as MON would say, terrific.

Good to see Heskey arrive. MON must have given him some assurances about staying for the long term, at least 3.5 years anyway....

I've like O'Niel for a long time now, his days at Celtic were wonderful, did and is doing a great job at Villa too, great guy as well.

Oh dear, avfc48. your venom is really dripping now. How you must hate it with Villa sitting in the top four. How you must hate it every time Villa pick up another point. What a terribly sad time for you ...

I am starting to think that AVFC48 was once tricked by a leprauchaun as his hate towards MON is so unreasonable. Maybe he was once promised a pot of gold by someone who looked like MON and received nothing for his endeavours. What will he say if we finish top 4??? No doubt that we should have won the league. Definitely him behind the dugout last Saturday moaning which upset our leader.

I woudnt swap MON for anybody. All you have to do is take a trip back in time to the David (HONEST BUNCH OF LADS) O'dearme years and relise what a job he has done for us.We are now serious contenders instead of the laughing stock(i mean even bluenoses took the ***** for a couple of years)that we was back then.We now have the best manager and best owner you could want and if ya can't be happy bein a villa fan at the momment then ya never will.
