So How Was The Transfer Window For You?!
So how was it for you darling?
Oh no, sorry, that wasn't what I meant to say at all. I meant to say so how was the transfer window for you?!? If I ask the other question as above I usually get 'rubbish' and 'was that it?' ! :o(
I meant to say, our latest poll asks for your opinion on the transfer window.
Is Heskey enough? I personally don't think it was for a lack of effort that we didn't see major action, not many clubs saw much happen and who would want to sell to a club like Villa who are clearly on a march?
Now we have what we have and have to hope and pray we make the top four, then the summer window (oooooh nooooo don't mention that transfer window already!) could be epic!

Think Heskey was the best bit of business out of all the teams, and considering that not many teams around us have strengthened, then we should be quite happy with Ivanhoe.

downing wanted away from boro! theres no way bent's going to get a game at spurs now...we signed heskey! im not moaning id rather that than noone but those two aswell would of really made a difference! o well! guess we just have to get on with it! UP THE VILLA

I would have taken Bent and a poke in the eye rather than Heskey, he is much more of what we needed since Carew is back now. I guess we will have to say how the rest of the season unfolds. I just cant shake the feeling of it being an opportunity missed, we are still in the UEFA cup the FA cup and hell still in the title race. With our small squad we cannot cope with all competitions, I would hate to see us underachieve this season because of our lack of ambition.

What year of the 5 year plan is it? Think we're ahead of schedule! And becasue MON does his dealing in private, I bet there are plenty that he has arranged for the summer, when clubs will be more willing to sell.

i get confused with the transfer window....apparently we dont have enough players to maintain a push on all fronts(mon)..so we then get a 32day window to buy some players,but we do nothing for 25 days then get in one player a good player no problem with that then we do nothing for 7 days and bodymoor was closed today despite the manager telling us he was working right up to 5pm to make something happen??apparently teams like tottenham can sign massive players in a couple of hours start to finish done..surely there must have been a few players that we could have used?i dont know who mon wanted but there was no reports of bids being turned down.and the press these days just dont 'not find out' about these things....so what did we do for the other 31 days????

Im glad we don't just buy for the sake of it, remember the djemba djemba days?! we needed a centre back and another striker, bear in mind freddie and big john are back in training now so they fill any gaps we may have adequately. as long as we can stay injury free we'll be ok. I'm sure MON/Randy tried to make some deals but there was little movement anywhere really. Up the Villa

sorry guys, but it's quite simple. MON inquired about players he fancied would do a job for us, but the other club have to be willing to sell them. Maybe he was waiting on answers once other clubs bought sufficient cover first before selling their stars. As someone Has said already, Heskey was probably the best bit of business of the window. At least we are not panic buying like a lot of other clubs have. Mon is prepared to wait for the right players to become available and I with him 100%. Lets stay positive and get behind the lads for the rest of the season.

My main concern is our competitors "maybe not this season but next" spurs man city are building very strong squads so if we do make top four we will find it hard staying their, hopefully the summer will bear more fruits.

I believe the mystical 5 year plan was dismissed by the Club as something that was never discussed, however I like the idea that on the 5th year of Randy's revolution we will win the league, be in the champions league and in the finals of cups. If things were that easy I'm sure Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and every other club would be announcing similar plans every year, just so they would come to fruition on the date specified. We all know football is about taking your opportunities as they come to you, so let’s hope we haven't missed ours.

Chris, I've had the same worries about teams like spurs and newcastle for years now... but it seems our fears continue to be confounded. As long as teams like that keep bringing in mercenaries, there'll only be so far they can go, or so long they can go before someone *****es in someone else's face and it all falls apart. I think we need to trust that although our signings are rarely glamerous, they fit into the puzzle MON has been piecing together since he got here. I would have called you crazy even 3 years ago if I knew how much money we had available to spend and bought some of the players we've gone in for, but the truth of it is, whether we finish in champions league position or not, with the current TYPE of player MON is going in for, we are doing the business on the pitch. Right now, it's not a question on the type of player MON signs, but the quantity. (and who's to say he's not done his level best?)

Kind of suprised really that we aint done more business, with the small squad and all that, but really happy at the min and hope we continue to press for 4th, as I think Arsenal will be on our heels and we need to finish ahead of them. But will be happy with 5th TBH.

We really needed a top class Centre back now Laursen is out, I'm sorry but i don't have no confidence when i see either Cueller or Knight on the field, i always fear the worse.
Villa 4 Ever
Heskey was a good signing. He plays a position in which we needed a player. He's been around the league and played lots of internationals, which means he knows how to play with 10 other guys he met the day before. It seems a lot of younger and/or foreign players are lost for 2-3 months after transfering in to the Prem.
I'll take a solid veteran now save the young starlets for the summer.

We got the best deal of the transfer window. A defender would have been nice, but I still feel we've got what we need to continue.

Bouma will be back - we'll have a new right back a guy called Luke Young and a new centre half by the name of Cuellar. Must avoid the yellow cards tho.

can't wait for Bouma to come back. After the past few transfer windows, i've decided i'm not makign any comments anymore. MON has had me sussed every single time. and the fact we are where we are says it all. I salute MON.

im totaly disapointed with this window to be honest but now that its over i hope us villa fans dont dwell too much on what could or should have been, now is the time we show as much support for MON and his british legion, so come on VILLA Champs league here we come
