Marlon Not In A Hurry To Leave

Marlon Harewood's agent has told Setnata Sports that a move to the Championship is out of the question and that he doesn't believe his client will move anywhere in the current window.

Harewood's future has been in some doubt for quite a while, but surely a move even if one was planned has now been ruled out given the fact we are missing Ashley for 3 games.

Anyway, a rumoured transfer to Sheffield United 'is totally out of the question' according to Phil Sproson, who continued to state:

"Obviously that has come out of the fact that Sheffield United have sold James Beattie but Marlon won`t go to Sheffield United.

"It is totally out of the question. He won`t go to The Championship.

"We are not exploring the possibility of leaving, there has been a little bit of interest from one or two others but he is in no rush to leave Villa. No, I don`t expect him to leave in January."

Commenting on the reported interest of Middlesbrough his agent revealed that Villa put a block on a loan more to Boro.

"I know they are after a striker.

"Marlon would certainly fit the bill I think with his pace and his goalscoring record at West Ham but again, I think Middlesbrough have enquired about a loan and Villa won`t loan him, that`s it really."

It's hard to believe to be honest that his record at Wet Spam was 47 goals in 123 appearances. That was the Harewood we fell in love with last season with his supersub role, it's just a shame he can't find the form again this season when he has been given the chance.

Good - he hasn't been replaced yet and serves his place in the squad until we do!

Agree lee, can't sell anyone until we get players in. If he goes we need 2 strikers, easier said than done! Marlon hasn't had a look in even as a sub this season, not quite sure why he doesn't get the last 10-15 minutes to try to make an impact and give tired defences something to think about. Certainly he isn't up to starting, he doesn't seem to have the same aggression when he does start.
The Fear
thats exackly what i think fear! bring him on in the last 10mins if we are winning cus you no for a fact he will chance literally anything and put there defenders under pressure! gabis usually dead by this time

Hard to find form when you're not playing - he's only been given a handful of appearances to try t ostake a claim.....lot of pressure for the lad. I'm not a huge fan to be honest, but I do sympathise with him.

I doubt Marlon will play in Ash's absence, i would presume that Milner will go left and NRC right, Cuellar at RB and Knight at CB. Surely? Why change the whole formation?
young_jonah
I think he'll end up at Wigan or Blackburn. Citeh will but RSC for 24m
tarzan
alternative YJ is just to put Gabby out on the wing and play Marlon up front in the existing formation....
