Marlon Harewood Poll Results & Odds

Vital Villa asked, before Marlon Harewood signed,

What do you think of the proposed Marlon Harewood signing? I did also put 'look at the stats' in the article I'd done (as 1 in 3 isn't a bad rate for a striker who costs 3.7m!)

Now he is 'ours' I'm sure the results would be different, maybe we'll ask again later in the summer once we have had some more arrivals.

The results were;

46% Gutted, thought these days were over.
22% Ok
14% Good
13% Average at best

That left 5% (West Ham fans?!) saying great signing, can't believe our luck!

William Hill have set the odds for Harewood nice and quickly!

They have him at: 9/5 to score 11 or more premiership goals, 11/4 for 9 or 10 goals and evens to score 8 or less. Slightly longer odds are for him to win the Premiership Golden Boot at 150/1.

A good bet at evens for a bench warmer!
Sorry but this type of poll is very negative and silly
Agreee totally with tarzan, let's judge him in time. He's being made a scapegoat because we expected a major signing. I hope he rams it down the doubters throats. I wasn't overly keen on him signing but he's here now so lets get behind him.
I think he could be a major signing for us, if he scores more than ten league goals this season. We need a decent cup run this season too.
makes you wonder just how much money we actually have! i dont actually thik that we have as much money as we think! Top bids- west ham- 16.5 on bent
makes you wonder just how much money we actually have! i dont actually thik that we have as much money as we think! Top bids on strikers- west ham- 16.5 on bent + 7.5 on bellamy +reported 14 on defoe(Probably not true!) tottenham- 16.5 on bent pompey- 8million on utaka+ nugent for 6. man city- bianchi was 8.8 even SUNDERLAND-paying totally over the odds for chopra+ bidding 6 illion for nugent! And obviously you have the man u'z and liverpools with 20 on torres and 17 on anderson which could also be added too with the 35 million pound swoop of carlos teves! middlesboro bidded 6million for smith! also arsenal with edquardo de silva at a large sum on 8.5 million!
I think we do have money, it's just that O'neill will not throw it around. We already have a really first rate striker in Carew. I think we'll play 4-3-3 this season. With Gab, Young, Maloney, Berger, Moore at some point playing as wingers/forwards. It also allows Barry to play inside with Petrov and Reo Coker. If Carew gets 15 that's a great return and the others all chip in we'll be looking good.
There were similar cries of derision when Ron Saunders signed a certain "Peter Withe". Enough said - give him a chance
bob the builder
If signing harewood pushes Luke Moore into, what I think he can be, through competition for the forward position then it will be the best 3.7m ever spent. If he bags 10+ himself then even better, lets get behind him and the rest of the squad. UTV
Erm - my sign in name is 'BobTheBuilder', but it looks like it's possible to also have 'bob the builder' (not my post)?
... although on this occasion I completely agree with 'bob the builder'!!
This signing would have been more acceptable if we hadn't been led to believe that top players would be joining Villa before August. Where are they and what evidence exists that we have tried to get any top players? ie like making real bids and having discussions. Where is this open management style that we were promissed?
Give the kid a chance - I feel he may be a decent player if motivated. Certainly will create competition between the younger strikers.
come off it bob the builder. I remember Peter Withe signing and I certainly don't remember any howls of protest.
myleftfoot, there were a lot of eyebrows raised when Suanders signed Withe.

Could turn out that Luke moore will be our best summer signing. anyway i like the way mon does things. hes obviously a little bit nuts but it keeps us all on edge. How boring would it be to be a chelsea fan? Stress free.....but boring. We got the new clough.....just minus him puching players and drinking heavily. unless he does that, any insiders?
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha etc etc How funny 1st coker now harewood is their any more of our dross you want. You have become our dross buyers. What about bowyer, i will have a word with M.O.N. Bet you will offer 25 mill what a joke team u have become.
Harewood is not withe......stop comparing them please. Is this going to be our reaction to every crap signing we make......'well withe was a risky buy' etc etc. How about lets buy someone who makes us go 'Yes! he is going to be quality, what a coup, a definite improvement' and then we wont have to have this crap debate in the first place.
SHOE HAMMER - 2 words - Carlos Tevez, this makes WHam the biggest ever Prem joke, you wouldn`t have sold Harewood for 10m a year ago though would ya?
And the man you replaced NRC with is crocked for 6 months - oh dear.
Faubert is a replacement for Benayoun. Parker replaced NRC.
Adam Mansell
Soooooooooooooooooooo funny cant stop laughing. Been up all night Ha Ha HA Ha. And if Tevez did make us the biggest joke then you lot have taken over the mantle. Good luck with 2 players who nearly sent us down, hopefully they will send you down.
Good signing by MON, I have no complaints. He was brought into the club with a specific role in mind, but I wont be too surprised if he surprises and silences the doubters by enjoying a pretty decent goalscoring season. Not a bad little piece of business by Mr O'Neill.
