The Villa home and away kits are unveiled today and the official site will display them at 2pm. They are being launched at Harvey Nichols at the moment. I'll try to get the images up on Vital as soon as possible.

The club have announced that Season Ticket Holders will be put into a draw to decide access to the soon to open Holte Hotel pub. The restorated Holte is open to the public from August 5th and some fans will be able to go in on Saturday August 4 before the pre-season friendly with Inter Milan. Full details: Click Here

Villa season tickets are on the up, up, up. The General in his thread on our forum yesterday said: As of today, we have sold 22,634 ST with 7,991 as 'new.' This is a high since 97/98 and will reach an all time high in about 6 days. We have 19,990 signed for Inter Milan.' Full article: Click Here

20-year-old Brummie Craig Gardner knows he faces more competition in the forthcoming season following the arrival of Nigel Reo-Coker but says he is determined to push his way further into the Villa first team following some great displays at the end of last season. He certainly looked good at the end of last season, he isn't afraid to tackle or shoot. The next Andy Townsend maybe? Full article: Click Here

Shaun Maloney has backed up his agent and said he is not unhappy at Aston Villa and is in fact looking forward to the new season. He told the official site following reports over the weekend that he wanted to return to the Scottish Giants: 'I didn't even see the story myself. Stilian Petrov told me about it, but there's nothing in it. I said when I came here that I was excited by the challenge of playing in the Premier League and that's still the case.'

Mark Delaney has been given an extension to his contract to prove his fitness and will go with the lads on the USA/Canada pre-season tour. Barry says a fit Delaney will be like a new signing. Full article: Click Here

Ralph Ellis of the Sunday Mirror has a report today saying that Villa will spend £25million on Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, Spurs striker Jermain Defoe and Charlton right-back Luke Young. Full article: Are the Sunday Mirror Aving a Laff?

Vital Villa asked in a brief poll (as it was replaced with the Harewood poll) Would you re-sign Darius Vassell for £1.5m following reports Sven will let him leave? No way, Gabby/Moore are better (64%), Yes, as a squad player (16%), Have you stopped taking your drugs Fear? (16%), Maybe (3%) Yes, as a first team regular (1%). That'll be a no then!

New kit looks good, refurbished Holte Hotel looks good, new signings to date (to me anyhow) look good even if nowhere near enough of them, the return to fitness for MD has to be good, as is our Shaun quashing rumours about him being unsettled and wanting back to the Mickey Mouse League. In facts all's good. Lets quit our moaning, and get on with supporting the club.
