Maloney Dismisses Celtic Link

Shaun Maloney has backed up his agent ( Shaun Maloney Going Nowhere ) saying he is not unhappy at Aston Villa and is in fact looking forward to the new season.

He told the official site following reports over the weekend that he wanted to return to the Scottish Giants:

'I didn't even see the story myself. Stilian Petrov told me about it, but there's nothing in it. I said when I came here that I was excited by the challenge of playing in the Premier League and that's still the case.'

He also explains of his January transfer window move: 'It wasn't easy coming in midway through the season - ask any player, that's never ideal. But I'm here now for pre-season and looking forward to the new season. There's nothing I can do about these stories. I'm just concentrating on getting ready for the new season with Villa.'

Not to worry, Villa fans have been distracted with the excitement following the possibility we could be signing Marlon Harewood!!!

You can be sure Celtic wouldn't want him back regardless. He is a one season wonder who got too big for his tiny boots. He can rot away in the dullest team in England in a league where there are four teams at best. You lot deserve him.

Ha ha ha,didn`t he get player of the year for Celtic ??? Thank God Maloney has a brain and will stay in a proper league,weetim67 we know he`s quality and will look very good in Claret and Blue next season.

Ooo, isn't weetim67 poisonous, dosn't that sound a lot like sour grapes? Shaun is a gifted young player and will get better with Mon's guidance. It is easy to be good in a league where there is no competition. Wait till next year when we will stuff Celtic with Shaun playing.

Weetim-do you have a stump for a leg and use crutches? Do you use a high chair at meal times? just wondering what the effect of that massive chip on your shoulder has had on you doewn the years. Please get your self some help.

Delighted to see our Shaun react immediately to reject out of hand the absurd suggestions that he wants out, and totally dismiss the even more laughable suggestion that he craves a return north of the border, and to Glasgow Celtic. Why would he want to take such a backward step? He wants to improve and progress, develop his game by playing with a top premiership outfit, competing in a league that matters. He's here, here's arrived, and hopefully a very good season lays ahead for him. He's certainly showed up to now that he has promise, and talent that deserves a better stage than Parkhead and The Scottish Premier Mickey Mouse League.

I think that if we can get him fit enough he is going to be a big surprise next season. Nonsense rumour in the first place - funny how the sweaties all jump on it and beleive the press, but when the story is the other way they all say the papers are biased against them. Must be nice in their little world.............. How was copper wire invented? By 2 Scotsmen fighting over a penny!! Boom Boom

More papertalk a Celtic supporter behind this?

Load of Celtic fans over here, as you may imagine, and none wanted him back. I don't think he'll ever amount to much, wherever he plays to be honest. Hope to be wrong, but I think he'll get too injured and out of the game within a few years.

The news editors must be as bored as we are during the close season making up stuff like this. Here's to Maloney having a BIG season for villa.
