Ellis In West Bromwich Takeover?

Ellis live on!

I have it on good authority that Doug Ellis is the head of a consortium that is in negotiations with West Bromwich Albion Chairman, Jeremy Peace, regarding a potential takeover at the club.

This story is yet to be made public and I do not have any information on the Albions official stance on this. It is though an issue that has been developing for a while. I would personally doubt most stories of this nature but my source is very strong.

Those who remember back to January may recall me indicating, prior to Ashley Young's arrival that Villa had agreed an £8 million fee for a London based player. The speculation then was as to whether this may have been Wright Phillips, Defoe or Darren Bent. I argued that Watford would be considered London based and that Young was the player in question.

My contact is the same one for both stories and up to now he has a 100% hit rate. Watch this space.

OMG if this is true i pity the baggies! I wonder if he'll claim his blood runs blue and white? Just say NO! to Ellis...
The Usual Suspect

He invented the Boing! Boing!
steff_the_villan
lol steff. As for being Chairman bearvill I think you are probably correct on that. My understanding is that he is part of the consortium and that his involvement probably has something to do with the fact that he has £22 million burning a hole in his pocket. Wonder were that came from??? My blood still boils at the thought of the egotistical maniac that single handedly took the club from being the best in Europe, to one that was just grateful to stay in the top flight.

Obediah
Well if its true the boing boings can kiss by bye to ever makinbg the premiership and say hello to lots of local derbies against Walsall

Perhaps our President Emeritus is planning on taking over the Baggies in order to make sure they never bother us in the Premiership again. Just bring in Deadly, that'll sort em.

If he is part of a consortium and the bid is successfull, will that make his possition as club president at VP untennable? See, there's bennifit to everything if you look for it, we might, just might mind you, get him out of VP once and for all :o)
Villain Of The North
yeah, maybe this is the excuse we need to put the witton back as the witton. we cant have a stand named after the owner of another club can we now?

I've heard this rumour too, apparently as O'Leary or is it O'Neill, these Irish guys all sound the same, wants so many of O'Ur players, Ellis wants to buy us and sell these players to you for extortionate prices, thus making even more money O'Ut of Randy and screwing you all O'Ver again. Be warned O'Ever, these players couldnt keep us in the Premiership or get us back there.

I dont think I'd even wish him upon Birmingham City, but then again a return to his 'home' club would provide us with additional moments of hilarity. Cant believe that the West Brom supporters would be too happy at the prospect. With Ellis involved, the only way is down, particularly if he could lure Stride to go with him.

We can but hope. Mr West Bromwich Albion, Doug Ellis. Nice ring to it.
