Steven Davis Has Villa Future

Villa boss Martin O'Neill has flatly denied he is showing Northern Ireland midfielder Steven Davis the door following several paper reports claiming he will be allowed to leave for a fee of around £5million.

However O'Neill does also say he won't stand in any players way should they want to depart. Fair enough really, if anyone isn't committed or thinks they stand more chance elsewhere, let them go!

O'Neill says the 22-year-old midfielder is in his plans adding:

'I have said it before, no-one has been shoved out of the door, but if they want to leave the club that is entirely up to them. Some players have requested to leave recently, and if that is their mind-set then I will not stand in their way.'

Yeah but he hasn't said that Steven Davis should stay and he will do all he can to convince him to do so. I conclude bye bye Davis.
still skeggy
think it will come down to davis, whether he wants to get his head down and work to get in team or just say ***** it and leave! its upto you stevie d,no need to take a step down yet as joining fulham or reading are exactly that. UTV

I think he's on his way, but if he doesn't want to stay and prove himself, we should cash in. I would say he's done as much as Sidwell possibly!

Would hate to see him go, but if the lure of pastures new proves to much for him, then MON would be right not to stand in his way. He still has it all to prove in my opinion, he's a long, long way away from being the finished article.

If we could get a decent price for him, then maybe its time we considered moving him on. After all, hopefully several new arrivals will be calling Villa Park home before too long.
