The Beast Departs Villa Park

The Beast Departs Villa Park

Reserve keeper Robert Olejnik, aka The Beast, is set to join Scottish team Falkirk when his contract expires on July 1st.

Hot on the heals of Stephen Henderson, who is off to Bristol City, Olejnik is also being released.

The 20 year-old keeper said to Falkirk TV:

"I am absolutely delighted to be here. It is a great opportunity to play first team football. My agent told me what a fantastic football club this is and how well they handle young players."

Adding:

"This will be a great opportunity for me to play at places like Ibrox and Parkhead and I am really looking forward to the start of the season."

The writing was on the wall for 'The Beast' when he was overlooked last mid-season, and we brought in Mr Calamity himself from Crystal Palace. Obviously MON and co didn't rate young Robert highly enough, so its better all round that he now finds himself heading to pastures new.

I expect more change on the goalkeeping department? We're certainly a little short now.
