Villa Staff Departures

Villa Club Secretary Marion Stringer departed from Villa Park this week after 29 years of service.

Steve Stride, former Club Secretary and more recently operations director, leaves next week.

I found both professional and friendly to deal with during the protests etc, especially Marion who I had to liase with when VFC and the AV Shareholders Association added the resolutions to the AGM a few years back.

I wish them both all the best for the future.

Whats with Agbonglaors disappearence?

Anyone who has given the club that length of service deserves to go with everybodys best wishes. I personally do not feel Steve Stride was anywhere near good enough at his role, the advances made by the current regime prove this. I do believe that he always did what he thought was right though, and for that he can go with his head held high. If Steve Stride was a player he would have been Peter Whiitingham ............ gave his best but ultimately it was nowhere near good enough.

The new broom continues to sweep clean, as in my opinion it is perfectly entitled to do, and indeed should do. Good luck to both. Know nothing about Marion Stringer so cant comment, while I've made clear my feelings and opinions about Stride on previous occasions, and nothing will be served by re-hashing old grumbles.

Stride no doubt will now be off to retire to his summer home in Florida. Cant say I blame him.
