Unoial Villa News...

Norwich manager Peter Grant says he would like to take Villa striker Chris Sutton, who is still unsure of his future due to eye problems, back to Carrow Road. The Canaries boss said in the Eastern Daily Press: 'I would certainly always be interested if Chris Sutton became available. I was very surprised Norwich didn't take him last year.'

The Mail on Sunday claimed that Aston Villa will sign England Under-21 captain and Nigel Reo-Coker who has fallen out with West Ham boss Alan Curbishley. The 23-year-old has submitted a transfer target and Martin O'Neill is apparently front of the queue although the £8million asking price might be too high.

Patrik Berger has agreed to stay for another season and will sign a one-year-deal when he returns to pre-season training in July.

The News of the World claimed on Sunday that Aston Villa's Northern Ireland defender Aaron Hughes is on his way to Fulham. The former Newcastle utility player is apparently wanted by his former NI boss Lawrie Sanchez. Steven Davis has also been linked.

Vital Villa asked last week if you would like to see Aston Villa sign Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy. The vote, same as the article comments and forum posts, were very split. To Bellend or not to Bellend. 42% said they wanted him as he is a winner, 47% said no thanks, he is trouble. That left 11% unsure.

According to the latest reports, the troubled Red wants to stay at Liverpool despite reports elsewhere suggesting Rafa Benitez is ready to off-load a number of players including Bellamy.
Bellamy said: 'Everywhere I go there is speculation. There was talk of Aston Villa wanting me within a couple of months of me arriving at Liverpool, and that situation doesn't seem to have gone away.' Full article: Click Here

The Times say that Liverpool are asking £12 million for Bellamy and claim that West Ham and Blackburn Rovers are also interested in the player. They also claim Rafa would want a similar amount for former Villa striker Peter Crouch.

According to the People Villa are interested in West Bromwich Albion defender Paul McShane. Who aren't we linked to at the Baggies though?

Wigan manager Chris Hutchings is said to be joining the 'race' for the signature of Villa midfielder Gavin McCann. Reports last week suggested Roy Keane wasn't interested in taking him back to Sunderland but Steve Coppell was interested in him for Reading.

The Express and Star say that Villa will have to look elsewhere after Valencia bid £10m for Ajax star Wesley Sneijder. Apparently the Dutch international fancies his chances in Spain.

The E&S also say that O'Neill might fail in his attempts to buy Celtic's £4million rated goalie Artur Boruc as Celtic don't want to sell a third player to Villa after last seasons arrivals of Stiliyan Petrov and Shaun Maloney. Spoil-sports!

Reports suggest that Aston Villa are in a tug of war to sign Portsmouth defender Matthew Taylor with one suggesting Everton had already bid £5million and another claiming Liverpool had bid. Spurs have also been linked.

Blimey, the rumours have gone into overdrive, and I'm not making them up, honest! We've been linked to Hamburg midfielder Nigel de Jong according to reports in France. He is apparently available for £2million with PSV and AZ Alkmaar are also linked.

Thought for the day (my favourite one!) 'What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?'

Apparantly the guy who invented the oaky coaky died last week. the undertakers put his left leg in, and he took it out again. took three hours to bury him. Almost as long as it took Baros to ffff off.

Shame on you Christo. Is that really necessary or relevant. Its unfunny, and a slur, and a comment like that surely has no place on here.
