Takeover Talk

According to The Mirror, Ray Ranson is once again interested in approaching Villa to wrestle the power from Doug Ellis. This time he heads a consortium looking at a £45million bid.

VFC actually spoke to Ray Ransons representative before they put in their last bid some while back. They certainly said the right things but then put in a low bid and pulled out after Richard Thompson accused Doug of stonewalling the consortium and not showing them the full accounts.

The message coming from the group was a very positive one, lets hope this doesn't turn out to be paper talk, if one group approaches it may well bring out other suitors. One thing is for sure, at the age of 82 and in ill health, Mr Ellis has got to move over at some point and there could be no better time to do so. I'm sure he can be offered some honorary role to placate him!

Time will tell.

Thoroughly enjoyed that game, most entertaining! Spurs on the other hand, with only 1 win in 19 at Villa Park, might not have enjoyed it quite so much.
