Best Off Field Achievements

The end of season awards continue, this time 'best off field achievements' as suggested by Erod.

The re-development of Bodymoor Heath from state of the Ark to the best in Europe won with 32% of votes.

The full results are:

Training ground re-development (32%)
Nike Sponsorship (26%)
Randy buying players with own money (7%)
Free coaches to Chelsea (7%)
Bringing back Ron Saunders (6%)
Holte Hotel restoration (4%)
General CK on the web (4%)
Fears heated, cushioned seat with pop up umbrella (3%)
1982 celebrations (3%)
New club badge (2%)
New chief exec and staff (2%)
Fan liaison (2%)
Ticket offers (1%)

I'll make sure the guys at Villa see this so they can see the positive vibes now coming from the fans. What a difference a season makes!

Lots of great off field achievements, love the new badge, the sponsorships, training ground, everything really. I'm at university down in South Wales, but i'm going to get a season ticket this year and try and make it down to every match. I had one before i came 2 seasons ago, but the travelling was a ******.

Travelling is a ****** (*****, they censored me as well) but welcome back cubos. All that travelling from South Wales would be much cheaper, or more enjoyable, if you managed to convince 3 or 4 friends to make the pilgramage each time with you.

In my opinion the greatest off-field achievement has been the fact that 20+ years of malaise have been blown away in one season. This is really remarkable considering the atmosphere surrounding the club just 12 months ago and if I hadn't seen it for myself I wouldn't have believed it possible. The chairman and board have been absolutely top class and have "walked the walk" instead of talking a lot as per the previous incumbents. All of the ingredients listed in the poll above are testament to just what a top class outfit we are now becoming. Before we were seen as also rans, we weren't even a laughing stock, worse still, we were just viewed with apathy by the football world and the general media. There is a definate sea change and we are now talked about as having serious potential to become serious challengers at the top end of the league.
