Holteender43 Fulfils Villa Dream

I would just like to share the details of the completion of my life long dream that occurred today, having won a competition in the Daily Express to play along side members of the 82 winning side in a Villa Legends side at Villa Park last Friday.

The “Villa Legends” side included Tony Morley, Gordon Cowans , Colin Gibson , Mark Walters and were managed by Des Bremner , playing against a “T Mobile” select team (players I had not heard of , including mostly T mobile employees and “guests” managed by the great Gary Shaw, all refereed by Dermot Gallagher).

From the warm up- where I lashed a shot into the Holte End Net, the fanfare as we came out of the tunnel , playing alongside some famous stars of Villa’s past, to the beer afterwards will be a day to remember.

At 36 my life dream is now complete , I am honoured to have done what most villa fans dream of.

I am unsure how or if this type of event can feature on Vital Villa, but I will tell the world of the day I played footy at the mecca of my world with Sid Cowans and Co.

Just like to add how down to earth the Villa boys were and how they made the day special. Oh, and the result was 3-2 with Mark Walters getting 2 of the goals. I also got to keep the kit and a good few autographs and photo's to remember the day by.

Aching bones and sore feet today, but still on a high.
