Villa Take On MLS Columbus Crew

Villa have aanounced the second game for the pre-season tour across the pond.

Villa will play Columbus Crew on July 28 after playing Canadian Toronto FC on the 25th.

Villa chief executive Richard FitzGerald said: 'This is an exciting trip for us and will definitely form an important part of our preparations for the 2007-08 season. It's a very serious time for us and we'll be taking the full first-team squad over for the two games as we really start to focus on the new season. The games should be competitive because the MLS sides are in the middle of their season, so the games should certainly help our preparations. Martin went over there with Celtic and found it a very useful experience, so this is all about being ready for the start of what is a very important season for Aston Villa Football Club.'

Vital Villa are offering ten lucky readers the chance to view both games. To be in with a chance, email youmustbehavingalaugh@somewherenothere.com with your full details.

Terms and conditions: The lucky winners must pay for their own flights, accomodation, food and tickets to the game.

nice competition (even better email addy !! lol) thats what bugs me when clubs go overseas, it prices out a lot of fans from seeing them pre season

I shall be there. Just a mere hop, step, and a jump (100 mile drive north up I71 actually) from where I'll be, so yes, an early opportunity to see MON's new look Villa team in action. Toronto? Still working on it. 15 hour drive, so depends on the better halfs itinerary, but the Crew game, absolutely!
glensider
we played the crew before this preseason, they're a decent outfit, game finished 1-1, big victor scored!

so the lucky winners get thier beer paid for then Fear or will we be seeing a change to the terms and conditions once you realise the omission?
DudleyPhill
Beer dudleyPhill? In unison with the team, I assumed we'd all remain sober throughout pre-season to aid our training!?!
The Fear
but surely we have to have celebration training Fear after all we don't want to give a poor performance when we win the league cup, FA cup, qualify for europe and beat the muppets from small heath.

the new york based supporters club is planning on having members at both games. Hope to see lots of you guys there this summer!

The General did say he would be talking to a travel agent to see if they could come up with a package tour for the 2 games. If the price is right I'm there.

Toronto just won their first game! Maybe they'll be shocking "not as bad as we thought" by midsummer.
