The Djemba Twins To Move

The Djemba Twins To Move

Martin O'Neill is looking at options for 26-year-old midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba who has been on loan at Burnley.

The former Manchester United player, who was brought in by Sir Alex Ferguson as a potential replacement for Roy Keane amazingly (!) is wanted by Burnley boss Steve Cotterill who said: 'Djemba-Djemba has been fantastic and if there was the opportunity to keep him I'd only be too delighted to have him. He has come in and definitely added something to us. He passes it as well as anybody has in my time here.'

O'Neill has admitted to communications between himself and Cotterill. 'He has spoken to me very, very briefly on it. I know that their season has just ended. I will sit down with Eric. I will sit down with whoever he has working for him as well, at the same time, and discuss it. I will think it through...'

Jumper Jumper says he would like to be in the Prem but won't want to return to Villa if he isn't wanted.

Be good if he can get a move, it is obvious he won't make it at Villa so hopefully he'll get himself sorted this summer.

He obviously likes wearing Claret & Blue... but Burnley is a much better fit for him.

I'm sure I've rattled on about this before, but I saw him come on as a second half sub at the friendly in Hannover last summer. It was a typical pre-season game, and pretty slow-paced. But he impressed me - his passing was sublime at times. But maybe that's the problem, with the pace of the PL he seems to struggle big time.

Forgot we had this bloke. He's not been a pain and he's not been good so I wish him luck.

I still think he was a good player, just not for us. But send him to Lille and watch him get his stride back

He's got the ability, but for some reason has not been able to find his feet at either Old Trafford or Villa Park. Attitude maybe? Anyhow, good luck to him wherever he ends up. His was a strange signing, a desperate signing in many ways, but possibly now he will find the lower grade of football more suitable to his capabilities.
