Villa v Sheff Utd Man Of Match

Vital Villa asked for your man of the match vote for our demolition of Sheffield United.

The vote was a close run thing this week with Patrik Berger (32%) beating Gabriel Agbonlahor (31%) by 1%.

Gareth Barry's central midfield role earnt him 11% of the votes and Thomas Sorensen came next with 7%, although I'm not sure why as I can't remember him being tested?!

Then:

Ashley Young 6%
Martin Laursen 5%
Craig Gardner 3%
Wilfred Bouma 2%
John Carew 2%
Olof Mellberg 1%

Our latest poll is continuing the Vital Villa end of season awards and asks for your votes for the most improved player of the season.

Close call, the whole team played well, although the defence had very little to do.

man of the match...the team of 82 before the game!

My vote goes to the 82 hero who got on his knees and kissed the turf in front of the Holte End. Was it Colin Gibson ?

How can the awards committee include Luke Moore? I appreciate that injuries are unfortunate but he's only featured in approx one third of the first team games.

I really want to vote for 2 on this one - Bouma and Gabby have exceeded all expectations. Lets hope that a couple more do the same next year!!!

Cant argue against the eventual winner of Saturdays close run vote, but there were several out there wearing the claret and blue who could also quite justifiably have got the nod. Take a bow though Paddy Berger, his form during the second half of the season (and his availability) have been a revelation.

Barry has been overlooked in this just because we expect such a high standard from him these days on recent form but can't argue with the above. Gardner needs some shooting practice though.

One for the current poll, most improved player of the season. Patrik Berger. Went from completely nothing to somewhat of a match winner. That goal he scored was class

Gotta be Bouma or Berger for me and seeing as the latter sint included I've gone for BOUMA!!!!!!
DeanoVilla
Bouma most definately, he looks like he should be playing rugby though!
industrial_musical
Bouman for me as most improved player. he has been brilliant since the start of the new year. Even Fear is beginning to like him after slagging him off for a while!!!
jonah
Not Bouman, BOUMA lol.
