'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Another Villa Brick In The Wall

Villa chief executive Richard FitzGerald has declared himself a builder.

He said: 'I've only been here four months, but for me, this is really about achieving the goals set by the club and meeting certain objectives set over a period of time. This weekend is an important part of building the club.'

'I'm a 'builder' and if we're going to succeed, then all the bricks have to be in place.'

'We can't leave one out because we'll struggle if we do. To consistently excel over a long period of time, the training ground has to be right, we have to have the right manager and players, the right support, the right consultation and the right community. We have a strategy for that and we're jumping in with both feet.'

'But one error and he knows all the recent positive vibes will count for little. We've got to make sure we do it right.'

This weekend is a great (and overdue) nod to our glorious past, lets hope next season is the first of many building to a great future with no expense spared in the summer on new players!

Doesnt it feel so much better to have a chief exec and chairman who are clued up on current affairs. I cant wait for the transfer window to open!

Its all about getting the Big Players in. If Villa buy top class players the rest will fall into place.

I make no excuse for repeating myself. Richard FitzGerald is a professional, a top of the line business executive, something we've been sadly lacking for years. He can describe himself how he likes, a builder whatever, but he's quite obviously a winner. After the impotents of the previous regime, our new CEO is a complete breath of fresh air.

Everything is just so positive off the field and we are now starting to play decent stuff on it too. Is this really happening?
