Villa On The Up

Had to post something positive today, so here it is, Villa fan Lee Lindsay in a conversation with a Blue Nose:

I do feel that Villa next season will be a threat to any club with the changes/investment that's currently going on.

We're no longer a team who will even accept midtable mediocracy. We're going to be banging Bolton, Everton, Spurs and Blackburn out of the way to the Uefa Cup next season. Randy is proving his worth with a Nike Sponsorship deal, new ground facilities and resource, the best training ground in Europe, a big international sponsorship deal for 08/09 season in the making..... These are not incremental changes, they are gigantic leaps in progress. The new badge, the new slogan, the new shirt design, the new interest, the reduction in ticket prices, the increased fans and tv coverage....

I'm not piping up, but this season although it's been average and poor for the mid-section, we have only lost less games than the top 5. The class of Laursen speaks for itself, if we can keep him fit and the promise of 4 or 5 big signings in the summer is only going to provide us with further strength and depths. Our young startlets our proving themselves, our highest goal scorer Gabriel Agbonlahor, Luke Moore, and Craig Gardner are doing the business... They are going to be more experienced, stronger and have to work harder to get in the squad next season.

Although we should be proud of Midlands football on a turn around, I think in 2 seasons the Holte Faithfull will see a return to Silverware and fans abusing cheap European flights to watch our boys back where they belong!

Got to agree with everything said in the article. Haven't been so optimistic since, er, the beginning of the 80s. We'll also have the Bluenoses to wallop next season! Bring it on!
pongogidman
Well said lee, we are going places under randy, exciting times ahead for all us villans.

i cant wait to destroy big cheif broken nose and his rag tag team next season. To be honest with all the money available to any teams being premoted and then relegated its going to be the same teams up and down so we will have the pleasure of sending the blue noses down every other year.

Should be a great season next year. Just hope the Baggies or Wolves can win the playoffs so we have even more derby excitement.

Cant wait to see bodymoor heath on sunday. Still have to pinch myself thinking that this is aston villa !!!!!!!!!!
Stig
my mate was at bodymoor on tuesday, he's a gym engineer and was installing all of the gym equipment (even though the floor was still wet in places!!) he says the facilities are amazing. he's done the same at old trafford, anfield and steven gerrards house, to name a few, and he says it wups the rest into submission. if it wasn't for randy there would still be the half built shell that you can see on the villa website. apparently there having photos done on friday, so hopefully those who either aren't gym engineers or Stig can have a look too!

What a difference a mere ten months or so has made. Optimism in the future of this great club is sky high again, and enthusiasm amongst supporters, supporters who were fast turning their backs on the club, is booming once more. The club is vibrant, alive and kicking. We have professionals both in the boardroom and scattered throughout the marketing/commercial depts etc. etc. The deadwood has been cleared, or is soon to depart, and the club is very much on the right track. Bring on 2007-08. We are ready for the challenge.

Couldn't have put it better myself glensider. Lets hope in the near future we sell out of season tickets, never mind on a match by match basis. Onwards and upwards.

With the Superb owners, staff and players, new signings, manager of the month,{about time}, stronger support, old cr@p out the door, Arsenhole going backwards, spuds think they have made it big already, bolton lost magic wand, man city about to sack schyco, hughes can go no further at burn, jose and the ****** cats are not REPEAT NOT a big club and are going backwards. Even Martin will be amazed at villa's progress next season. I will not!
