Bardsley To Leave Villa

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has admitted that the clubs on-loan right back Phil Bardsley will be returning to Manchester United at the end of the season.

Bardsley who has had mixed games and gathered some mixed opinions from Villa fans has made 13 appearances so far in place of Aaron Hughes as Mark Delaney still has his problems.

Martin O'Neill said: 'I think that decision has actually been made, because Sir Alex himself has said he is recalling all players from loan.

'I think that was always going to be the case. When I spoke to Sir Alex about it in the first place and to Phil, I don't think it was a case of seeing how things developed.

'I think he's enjoyed it and I've enjoyed having him here, there's no doubt about it.'

Lets go for Luke Young who is alot better than him. The new Gary neville
Well if that is the case put Aaron Hughes in at right back for the final two games. Sure he may not be first-choice next season but he will obviously be second choice behind whoever we sign. No point in Bardsley playing again this season.
His done his job, however we are going to be buying International Class in the summer.
Two good posts. I have already said previously that Luke Young is the shout. Plus it is now pointlss playing Bardsley again. His purpose has been served. Tell Aaron Hughes to prove he still has an opportunity at this club.
Good Point VOTH. Bardsley never quite 'had it' did he?
I can't say it's a huge shame we're not going in for him permanently. He may be a prospect in the future but we could do with attracting players who can do it on the pitch now.
Great articles on here too aren't there :-D
Didn't really think Bardsley was up to scratch, so not surprised he's returning to OT. We need a strong, swashbuckling right back who isn't afraid to get forward. I wonder if John Gidman's got a son ?
Dont go Phil ! Youve been our best player so far ;-)
Luke Young? Come on! With a central defender at left back we need more in attack from our right back. Luke Young is a decent enough defender but I think a RB in the Cafu mould would make us a far more effective attacking team. Now, where the hell they find a young undiscovered Cafu who all the Champions League Uefa cup qualified teams haven't noticed, I have no idea
didnt really like phil to be honest... football manager knowledge tells me anthony vanden borre would be the best, but of course thats just a game (a game where luke moore seems to be the greatest striker in the prem)
luke moore will be the greatest, once he gets his head down.
Thought he played well at Manchester on Saturday, but he's too hit and miss for me. He's young, will no doubt improve in time, and his experience since coming into VP on loan will have done him no harm at all.
We`ll get him on loan for another year i reck as Neville,Brown,O`Shea will be ahead of him anyhoo
Phew! I was really scared we were going to keep him. He made me miss de la Cruz.
Michah Richards anyone1?....he's a brummy lad and weve got loads of cash to spend in the summer Would be nice but very unlikely if Man U and Chelski are sniffing round....MON could maybe twist his arm?
Hes steady enough no great loss no great gain...luke young don't rate him at all im afraid
Sure there is someone better than Phil, he was a decent stopgap but as it proved, no more. Richards is a good shout, him and Gabby on the right would cause problems for sure.
Everyone seems to dismiss the possibility but if Laurrsen can get back to full fitness let's hoe Delaney can. If he does he still gets my vote. Sign someone else too by all means, we can't afford to rely on one top class right back - but that's what he is if he gets fit. Hard to support either L Pool or Chelski, but on balance the Reds are at least a bit more normal in financial terms and shaded it.
We've been linked to Paul Mcshane today, seems a bit small time to me but he cant be any worse than Bardsley! A fully fit Delaney would solve our problems.
Would love to see Carlos Edwards at R/B but Sunderland have just been promoted so he may well stay with them, but hey why not test the water with a decent bid.
