Vital Villa End Of Season Awards

Vital Villa End Of Season Awards

The much anticipated (!) Vital Villa end of season awards are upon us.

Who will win the very coveted best beard of the season award, can Mellberg make it three on the trot? Olof is said to be very (un) excited about the prospect of picking up a hatrick of awards from us.

The nominations are all being discussed in our Vital Villa Forum (Click Here) and since the announcements some people have been up for 14 hours arguing the case for their favourite players... well, 14 minutes anyway, I always one to stretch the truth.

The nominations include:

Best Player
Best young player
Most underrated player
Worst player
Most improved player
Most disappointing player
Best opponent player
Goal of the season
Game of the season
Beard of the season
Best off field achievement by Randy
Which former Villa player (in peak) would you most like back
Best MON signing

I'm almost too excited for words so I can only imagine how the players must be feeling..... ahem..... right now!

The award ceremony, will, as ever be held in my office, at my home, with me as special guest and in fact, only guest.

Valuable prizes will be distributed afterwards and much like the emails I keep getting from Prince Tosspot wanting to transfer great riches to me, £10 000 will have to be paid into my account in order for the winner to receive the great gifts* Vital Villa will bestow on them.

(*2 bananas, 1 apple and some hazelnuts**)
(** no responsibility will be held by Vital Villa for any allergic reaction to the hazelnuts, they were fresh when we bought them in 1997)

The mighty Vital awards begin with best beard of the season award, designed 3 seasons ago to ensure Olof won something whilst at Villa, although now we have moving forward, the joke doesn't have the same desperation about it!

Best former player in his peak that I'd like back? Gary Shaw without a doubt. He's just what we need right now. Trouble is our blond bombshell was very much a one-off.

Interesting to see the number of options for the 'best off the field achievements', and the actual spread of the voting so far. Now imagine asking this question 12 months ago of the previous regime. Only then is it possible to comprehend how far our club has come in such a short time and the level of work put in by the new board. Season ticket sales are the way for us to start repaying this effort and dedication. Plus there is the added bonus of 6 extra points to take off the Dildo Salesmen from Somali Heath next season.
