'If It's Football, It's Vital'

More Health Problems For Doug.

Rumours of severe health problems for Villa Chairman appear - according to the Birmingham Mail - to be wide of the mark. There was growing speculation that he was in hospital at the moment struggling with yet another disease.

The report says the 82 year old had surgery on Monday but Ellis says: 'I'm fine. I had a procedure under anaesthetic on Monday. The main thing is it was non-malignant. It was just a very small operation. Certainly nothing like the big one, the heart by-pass. I was back in the office all day yesterday, just a day later, and I'm absolutely fine.'

As I said at the AGM, I admire the way he has manfully fought his illness and wish him a full recovery. HOWEVER, we should not have an 82 year old running this club, he should relinquish power and the other directors of Aston Villa should be voting him off the board - which, with one man one vote, they are more than able to do.

The club remains a rudderless ship with an ageing Chairman in ill health. They need to employ a merchant bank or investment specialist to get the best deal for Aston Villa plc and ALL of it's shareholders. If not now, when?
