Takeover Deal On, Off, On, Off!

Takeover Deal On, Off, On, Off!

Martin Swain at the Express and Star has published a story today saying that the current proposed takeover of Aston Villa has collapsed.

The report, which is in direct contradiction to what other press members are being told, says that Michael Neville has been unable to convince the Comer brothers - Luke and Bryan - to invest. He also suggests that Michael Neville has had to go back to the drawing board with regards to finding backers.

The report also used a source close to Aston Villa suggesting that they suspect the deal has broken down. Reports last week also suggested that the proposed £64million valuation won't lead to an official bid as the figures 'don't stack up'.

My personal opinion is that we'll just have to wait for official announcements to the City otherwise we'll drive ourselves mad with the 'will they, won't they' questions.

Better communication from all parties would certainly be a very good start! As would hiring a merchant bank to attract the much need investment. Villa Park remains in limbo in the meantime.
