Villa striker claims 9th goal

Gabby Agbonlahor has today insisted that the goal scored against Wigan was 'definitely my goal.'

Gabby, who is now on 9 goals in total this season (equal in the Prem with Gareth Barry on 8), said:

'It's definitely my goal. Patrik Berger crossed the ball from the left and I got a little touch on it. I wouldn't be a striker if I didn't claim it, but I got the touch and it sneaked over the line.'

'I didn't really set myself a target for goals this season - I didn't think that was right in my first full season - but if I could get ten goals, that would definitely be a good return.'

And Martin O'Neill added: 'Gabby is claiming the goal - he got the final touch on the ball, so it's his goal and I'm delighted for him. What a terrific few days for him. What with scoring in three successive games and getting a new contract, he should buy me a Lottery ticket next!'

Gabby has made 32 starts this season and had one appearance from the bench.

You would have to pay good money for his goal return. Well done so far.

How many has he got? Eight, nine? Top scorer now I guess, and that goal tally just highlights our problem.

not bad for a 20 year old but our other striker par from carew and young nd sutton should be on about 10 (angel and moore) but its not bad when he has played on the wing for the other 6 goals
