No round badge for Villa?

The club have announced a new Club crest will be unveiled later this month after a survey of 4500 fans were consulted. Within the survey 76% of fans voted for a change.

Doesn't look like it will be a round one though, which to be fair I thought would be an absolute shoe in vote wise, as 51% voted to retain the shield. Bloody democracy! ;-)

80% asked for a star to be included IN the badge as the club aren't allowed to put a star to show we are European Cup winners above it.

63% said there should be a motto alongside the crest, hopefully the motto remains Prepared.

Other results announced on the official site were: Lion - Gold together 43%, Background Colour - Sky Blue 42%, Wording - AVFC 38%

Would have been nice to see the total breakdown results for all the options.

I cant wait to see it before forming an opinion, no point throwing your toys out the pram before you know why you are throwing them. I was not a fan of the current Badge/Crest so for me losing the stripey badge/crest will be no great loss.

the round badge is a classic look. considering there will be new strips from nike next season, maybe some experimentation could have happened with the crest.

over at Chelsea we had a massive campaign a few years ago to get our old badge back. The club came up with a revamp of the old badge, it's round, it's proud and it's ours! We luv it!

no toys being thrown Mr Col8, none at all, 51% voted for crest, crest it is, just surprised as I thought the round badge would have won hands down, that said there is the old crest and the new one, so appeals to the old fans and the very new fans I guess!

personally I thought it was a forgone - that the round badge would be restored - for this reason - I didn't vote.....seems I wasn't alone in this.....the first test for the new owners ...do they go with the poll vote .....or the feelings of the villians

qking they will go with the poll. The results of which are that majority of the villians want the crest. Personally, I voted for the round badge. Still cannot understand why we cannot have a star.

I'd like a return to the 81/82 kit (minus the short shorts)

The supporters are not always going to get their way. I'm just happy that the voices of the fans are at least now welcomed and considered. Must be an easy going chap I guess, but whatever the club has come up with will be fine by me.

I would prefer the round badge but I am more interested in how M'ON and Randy develop the team in the summer.

Like to see us kicking the round ball better. Perhaps Nike can change their logo to incorperate a gold star above the tick,

Why do you all want a round badge!!!??? They look ***** and 80's. Look at the teams with round badges. M'Boro, Charlton, Blackburn, Reading, Chelsea. Teams with crests. Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Villa. Yes I know we had a round badge during our finest hour but so what. The old crest as featured on the recent programs is what I'm hoping for. Classic. Stylish. Traditional.
