Roma Should Be Kicked Out Of Europe

Roma Should Be Kicked Out Of Europe

I know this is Vital Villa not United but I thought I'd give my view on the crowd trouble last night.

I felt really sick watching those police or as I call them the Ultra Roma fans. I watched Roma throw bottles and oranges with blades in them being thrown at the United fans.

I also saw them taunt the Manchester United fans and what did the police do?

Nothing at all.

In the end the Man U fans lost it because nothing was being done so one fan through a bottle back and what happened the police started attacking Man Utd fans and a lot of innocent people just sitting there watching the match suddenly found themselves being hit on the heads and starting to bleed.

A lot of the Man Utd fans who spoke to reporters were bleeding, some from their heads. Some were elderly and others children.

This makes me really sick. In fact as of now I am never setting one foot in Italy ever again and I think Roma should be relegated to Seria B and kicked out of European competitions. If this was British clubs acting that way, they would be expelled.

It'll all get swept under the carpet! Italian football hasn't learned a thing since that death in Sardinia!

Roma FC should not be kicked out. The injuries to all supporters were sustained as a result of poor policing. Striking someone to the head should be the last resort of an officer fearing for his life; NOT an officer losing his temper and using fans as pinatas!!!! Terrible terrible indictment on Italian policing.

Yes it looked very bad for the thugs that call themselves police. I do not think Roma should have to pay for the thugery of the Italian police though and anyway do you want to see Manure win another treble?? which unfortunetly looks very possible as baring a major change they have unfortunetly won the title, look very good for the F.A cup so hopefully will not win the Champions league.

Disgraceful scenes without a doubt and we complain about the British police. They are teddy bears compared to that lot of thugs...

Shocking scenes last night! That one fan who was still being beaten while he was unconcious was sickening to watch! Roma deserve punishing but it's the police who deserve the biggest punishment. How many times have we seen thses scenes with Italian police at football games??!!

Also couldn't help but notice an error on the poll question JP. Shouldn't it say 'Moore' not 'Young'?

I think Man Utd are not completely blameless. This kind of scene has happened twice this season now and that is not a coincidence. Admittedly I do think Roma kicked it off, but Man Utd fans knew what they were up against and should not have reacted. I believe both clubs should face extremely heavy fines (in excess of half a million euros) but we all know they will both be given a slap on the wrists.

I live in Manchester and watched the match last night surrounded by Mancs (though I was trying to watch our boys in the Cricket!). The Italian police's strategy has to be scrutinised. They are still seething from losing a colleague in Scilly and they fail to police their own. However, United should have not added fuel to the fire in the 1st instance. Why were there no police on the Roma side of the perspex barrier? It is clear the "Ultras" lot rushed over first and gave it the "lets be aving ya" gestures... As Einstein specified, any action has on opposite (or equal) reaction, so the united fans who reacted to this is no surprise. No excuse though, they saw the police and should have behaved accordingly. United will get fined, but Roma should get fined x10 more than United. There is nothing that UEFA can do about the Carbonarri in Italy. Having said that, they're loads of tw*tish united fans though - I've travelled to away united games with mates, (not funded by my own pockets- my £££s are for the coffers of AVFC! Honest!!), and you get a few who have had a few too many that decided to smash-up their seat before leaving the hosting ground - I have seen this on a couple of occasions. Also, have you seen the "crush" footage against Lillie on youtube? Make your own minds up.... hopefully some footage will get posted after this latest altercation?! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lille%20trouble%20manchester%20united&search=Search Also, can you remember the 3rd Rnd of the cup vs. Villa, and United 3-2 comeback and the crowd invasion? It's always a minority that tarnish our game, but better policing doesn't go a miss. Put some police on the Roma side of the fence and last nights trouble would have been outside the stadium (which raises other matters for concern entirely).

It might be harsh calling for the heads of the roma team but reverse the situation if it was the UK police on home soil, we'd be kicked out the tournament. I think it's a major problem that needs sorting in italy and if this isn't remedied now it'll escalate next time an english team plays them. There's gonna be some nutters here just waiting for an excuse to retaliate. This needs being dealt with now.

Disgraceful totally unacceptable behaviour by the police. I'm sure if that had happened at the theatre of screams there would be a bigger outcry.
