'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Deano Villa Fund Raising Thanks

I would just like to say a massive thank you on behalf of myself and Sarah's family to everyone who has sent in donations. (Auction Details - Click Here)

The response has been totally overwhelming and I'm sure the hospital will be gobsmacked by the amount we hand over next week.

We have now raised 2,162!!! And I have been promised further donations from friends which have yet to materialise but I'm hoping that total will rise to 2,300 by the end of the week.

That is easily enough to purchase 3 brand new nebulisers for the CF Ward at the Heartlands Hospital, with a little left over (this will either be used on spare pots for the nebs, or we have been asked by the physios at the hospital to put some towards an exercise bike for a guy with CF who is not very well off and has no family to support him).

Of the 2300 ish raised I am astonished that about a third of that (approx 700) has come from fellow footie fans.

I would like to thank everyone who has donated, Villa, Blues, Celtic, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Rangers plus many others, your generosity has been quite humbling.

I would also like to thank The Fear for giving up his time, possessions and article space on the site to plead for donations, and I'm hoping he'll let me buy him a beer some time soon!

Finally I am 100% positive that Sarah will be looking down on us and will be extremely proud of what we have achieved. This money will really help to make 3 people's lives so much easier, and while every day is currently a battle for myself and Sarah's family to overcome our loss, we can now at least take some comfort in the fact that Sarah's passing was not in vain.

Thank you all once again!
