Daft Juan Pablo Angel Link Denied

Daft Juan Pablo Angel Link Denied

Well, that puts pay to probably the daftest rumour I've heard in a few years, apart from the one that said Villa would buy Amule Heskey that is.

The Villa site has categorically denied there has been any contact between West Bromwich Albion and Villa over a loan move for Juan Pablo Angel.

Martin O'Neill said 'No one from Albion has contacted me about Juan Pablo Angel. As I speak at this minute, I don't know.'

Angel was linked to a return to River Plate, having fallen even further down the pecking order since the arrival of the Hulk and Ashley Young. No doubt he'll be gone in the summer, a nice trip to the continent would surely suit him more than a trip across Brum and into the Black Country?

Surely no one will expect JPA to play a major part in the future of Aston Villa. His one good season seems a distant memory now. River Plate, would he cut it there? I have my doubts, nice guy but not doing it in a Villa Shirt.

A switch to The Hawthorns may not be such a bad move for him, thats if anything ever comes of the rumours. He could do a lot worse.

If we had a bigger squad, he could have gone on loan for a couple of months to get some games. He seems desperately short of confidence and as much as I like the guy, just can't see him having any part to play next season

We could always hope that West Brom show a definite interest come seasons end, and we offer them Juan Pablo in a part exchange deal for Jason Koumas.
