Is This Really Our Reserves?

With West Ham bringing Luis Boa Morte and Kepa Blanco to the midlands tonight for their reserve team game, Aston Villa reserves have gone one better. Well, 7 better in fact.

Stuart Taylor, Aaron Hughes, Liam Ridgewell, Juan Pablo Angel, Steven Davis, Luke Moore, Jlloyd Samuel, Isaiah Osbourne and Craig Gardner will all start the game.

The poor line, well in response to Luke Moore's intention on firing a reminder that he is available for selection tonight against West Ham the official website said:

Having a big squad means that players not on first team duty need to remain match fit. They still get paid so why shouldn't they be playing in the reserves.

The thing is, is that if we would have a decent team in the first place a few years ago some of these in the reserves wouldn't have been experienced first team players. Next year there will be even more current first teamers in the reserves. About time too. Just got to pick a few points up over the next 3 home games and we can look forward to more progress next year. If Wham and Charlton do what Wigan have done recently we'll get nervous.

Wheres the match been played BTW?

Steve Stride is leaving! Wondered how long he would last.

Just seen that Luke Moore scored, well done Luke and also Aaron Hughes. Good sign for things to come.

Moore in for Gabby? He deserves a chance to start. Steve Stride = Old Skool!
tarzan
He's definitely getting closer to a first team recall thats for sure. Then he has to convince MON that he's worth a regular starting spot.

no reason to get nervous Gazvilla, have a butchers at man city's fixtures and you'll relax !

Agree bobbyfett. Man City are in freefall. F.A. Cup exit at Ewood Park and the limited amount of confidence within The COM Stadium could vanish overnight.
