Freak Injury List Grows

Oh no.

Just what is going on?! Another player has joined the injury list. The latest shocking setback is Wilfred Bouma who picked up a hamstring injury in training and will miss Saturdays game v Wigan.

The irony is Bouma was brought in to provide competition for places at left back. However Jlloyd, who has missed very little time through injuries, damaged his shoulder last week and is also out. Whatever people think of DOL, you've got to admit, the run of injuries he has had to cope with this season has been freakish.

We've had Laursen, Hughes, Delaney, Cahill, Samuel, Baros, Phillips, McCann, De La Cruz and Mellberg all missing games due to injuries. About time Villa got some luck, or was the win against Small Heath it?!!

DOL told the official site: 'He picked up the injury in the last few minutes of a training session yesterday and it's clear this morning that he's facing a spell on the sidelines. It's a blow for us and for the lad. He looked a lot more like the player I know we've signed in the derby win and he was looking to build on that. We don't know how long he'll be out for yet, but it's not one you can rush back from.'

Our defenders especially seem to be cursed. Laursen is a long term injury, Delaney has suffered all season with injuries and is only now getting back into contention, even reserve defender Cahill is having to have an exploratory operation to sort out his ankle injury.
