The Kiss Of Death For Villa?

Oh no, the kiss of death. BBC pundit and moustached one Mark Lawrenson has tipped Villa to beat Fulham tomorrow.

He said 'Both teams will be looking for a strong finish to the season - and with huge prize money on offer depending on where you finish in the Premiership you can hardly blame them. I have watched Villa recently and I am quite excited by the likes of John Carew, Ashley Young and Shaun Maloney - they have a bit of vibrancy about them.'

Adding on the BBC site 'I think Villa will win this and I don't think Fulham fans will be disappointed to hear that. I have spoken to a few recently and they told me to keep on tipping their team to lose as the reverse seems to happen.'

His prediction is 1-2

Mystic mug says 0-2 with John Carew and Ashley Young turning on the style.

Wilfred Bouma is fit to return, Luke Moore has scored four in four games for the reserves.

Aston Villa (from): Sorensen, Bardsley, Mellberg, Cahill, Bouma, Agbonlahor, Petrov, McCann, Barry, Carew, Young, Maloney, Hughes, Ridgewell, Davis, Osbourne, Gardner, Angel, Moore, Berger, Taylor, Samuel.

This is quite funny. I'm all for being optimistic, but we have to look at form here. Our away form is dire, bad results against Charlton, West Ham, Sheff Utd & Wigan. Fulham's midfield did well against Man U last week and we are both draw specialists, like Gerry I'm going for a draw.

Laursen isn't named above, don't tell me he's injured AGAIN!!

We've got to look towards keeping clean sheets! With the threat posed by the new signings, add to that the pace of Luke and Gabby, and so long as we take our chances.... An organised defence could be the key between now and close season. Having had a break and starting a fresh, if we can get a result from this one I feel we can go on an unbeaten run in the final 11 games to mirror the 1st 11 games of the campaign. Just keep it tight at the back lads! UTV!

Hopefully we wont be trailing before the clock hits 3.05. We have to stop giving away these early goals, and consequently end up chasing the game. We can win this one. We need to win this one.

Yes I think we badly need to win this one as our next two games (all be they are at home) A win and we can defenitely stop looking over our shoulders and concentrate on a top 10 finish, a loos and (no I am not going there)
irish villa
Does anyone know when we last won away in London?
VillaYamYam
Sorry Villayamyam, I can't remmeber, I'm only 51...I'll ask me dad!!

Spot on Jonah! I went to a Fulham/Villa game at Loftus Rd during O'Dreary's time when we won 2-1. I'm struggling to remember one since.

Lawrenson saying we will win worries me a bit, he is an idiot and cant believe at TV Licence payers we have to listen to his opinion on the BBC. But I will have to agree with Lawro on this one. I will go for 2 - 1 to Villa with Carew scoring both.

In recent-ish times I can remember beating Charlton 2-1 at the Valley, with Johannsson missing a last min pen, beating fulham 2-1 at Loftus with Darius Judas and Angel scoring. I saw Fulham v Villa finish 1-1 with Angel missing 2 pens and Andrew(!) Cole also missing one in the same game...was that last season? We should've beaten West ham away this season, and also took the lead and got draws against Arseanl and Chelsea. Should be a good game.

I still cringe thinking of those two missed penalties last year at Craven. Really, it summarized quite poetically our entire campaign last season.

We should be possitive, squad looks good, long break, good vibes, we must win this one. I never put spondoolies on the villa, this game will be 1- 3 to the mighty lions. Come on!!!

Manure were very fortunate last week at cottage cheese
myleftfoot
Villa were unfortunate against Man poo when we had Charlie Carolee in goal. Come on!!!

carew will hopefully be on song for the villa. i say 2 - 0 with carew and barry on the sheets. hopefully fulhams preformance will not be there when we play them.

Oh,and by the way Lawrenson can you stop making these pathetic little one-liners either in print or on the telly you droopy faced boring c@ck.Sorry
ASPINALL
If we can keep it tight early on we have a great chance to improve our shoddy away form, but I'm not sure about our defence. 2-2.
keithlees1978
i say 2-1(barry pen, Young)and for fulham(mcbride pen)
Newman
The time to start worrying and really questioning Lawro's sanity is when he tips us to win against a top half of the table side. Having said that, I'll settle for a point from this one.
