Unoial Villa News...

Villa reserves beat Charlton reserves 3-1 this week with goals from Juan Pablo Angel, Adam McGurk and Mark Satunton. VILLA: Taylor, Albrighton, O'Halloran, Laursen (booked 31), Samuel, Ridgewell (booked 90), Gardner, Osbourne, Angel, Williams, Berger. Subs: McGurk (for Angel 76), Bevan, Lowry, Y.Bellon (for Albrighton 76), Stieber (for Berger 76).

Shaun Wright-Phillips will not move in the summer and will turn down any offers from Aston Villa according to the Chelsea winger. Martin O’Neill tried to sign him during January either permanently or on loan but the England international wanted to stay and fight for his place (and pick up massive wages?!!?) at Chelski. 'I am settled in the south completely and I see myself living here for the rest of my life. I've been working hard all year. I've been keeping my head down and finding my feet the longer I've been here.' Full article: Chelsea Winger Will Snub Aston Villa

According to a report by Shaun Custis in The Sun both Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers are at the head of the queue for Liverpool striker and foul mealy mouthed yobbo (!) Craig Bellamy. Must admit, he does know where the goal is though! Full article: Bellend To Villa? Surely Not!

Vital Villa asked if you would like Craig Bellamy at Villa? No, he's a yobbo! 50%, No, he's never fit 1%, Yes, if MON can control him 46%, Unsure 3%.

Gabby Agbonlahor is looking for an improvement in the points haul as Villa enter the final quarter of the season and says the aim is still to finish in the top half to the table. He also says the break has done him good as he was starting to feel tired. Full article: Gabby Looking For Storming FinishClick Here

Olof Mellberg told the official site: 'The pressure is now on us to match the club's ambitions. The bearded wonder says more players will arrive in the summer and admits that puts pressure on the current players. Full article: Mellberg - More To Come For Villa

Patrik Berger is happy to be involved again but will wait until the summer to weigh up his future options. Full article: Berger On Future & Aston Villa

Milan Baros has spoken to L'Equipe of his time at Villa and says 'The first season at Villa was the best,' But then said of the lack of ambition despite the promises made to him. Doug et al making false promises? Don't believe that for a second! 'They promised other players to build a big team. Some came but it was not enough. I was disappointed with that. Coming back from the World Cup, I knew I would leave. In the end at Villa, I didn't feel any trust. People had a different sight on football than mine. I never said anything against them, we just didn't see things the same way.'

The Villa are offering a 5 match season ticket deal. They are calling it 'High Five' which gives you tickets for: Liverpool, Everton, Wigan, Portsmouth and Sheffield United. Not sure why Arsenal isn't in with that, or doesn't high six sound as good! :-p Prices start at 30 (under 16s) and 90 (adults) The offer gives full Season Ticket benefits including: 10% off in Aston Villa merchandise stores, Free claret and blue magazine, Free yearbook, Exclusive access to the Holte Suite before and after a game (if you are early enough that is!) Last 5 Season Tickets are available until March 16.

Thought for the day: '24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not!'

What is Baros talking about? There was certainly a lack of ambition when he signed but he left at the time when the club is showing more ambition than it has done since the days of Lord Ron Saunders......the man's a prat!!

Baros was planning to leave after the world cup when he signed for us. "Prat makes plans and God will laugh" and so did we after we got Carew in exchange for the lying ,sulking, scheming ****.

I think Villa will do well next season if they are able to acquire the likes of Bellamy and Shaun Wright Phillips!!! They will bring pace, flair and goals to your side, which at the moment is something you desperately need as Young and Carew looked to have started off well but have faded over the last few games. Maloney looks adecent buy at 1 million though!!!

Faded over the last few games????? They have only played THREE and each scored a goal!!

Okay, fair enough, they haven't faded but more must be expected from an attacker who was just bought for 10 million and has scored only 1 goal!!! Carew has just come to England so let's give him a bit of time to adjust.

OAL, Long time no speak? Even the best players can take a while to bed in. 10m doesn't get you the finished article nowadays (unless you are in the top 4). Good win at Everton - the cup draw could be a blessing in disguise, I think the FA Cup will be down the list for Chelski now.

How far away from the sack is Jol? If you lose against Chelski & don't qualify for Europe? I think Villa will finish on 46 points & 14th. Our away form is apalling, full stop. We do seem to be a soft touch (teams always seem to start well against us & play well!) & we can't score. This is coupled with the players not doing thier talking on the pitch. I would say on form, a draw is most likely against Fulham. All our supporters will predict a win, based on the fact that we've got 3 new players and played well losing.

OAL, are you a closet villa fan you always have a view on us? Are spurs boring as they have no ambition and a manager with a comedy accent? Like the dutch cops off Harry Enfield!!!

You cannot seriously think that Spurs have no ambition iomvilla, last 16 of UEFA cup, semi finalists of league cup, quarter final in FA (after a magnificent 4-0 thrashing of Fulham away from home) and 10th in the premiership(not so good but with a good run of games we will be straight back up there starting with a win against Bolton tomorrow). So before you start saying that Spurs have no ambition just look at the season we're having compared to Villa.

Not sure about the Fulham game. Our away form is dire and Fulham have been playing well at the Cottage. What do people think? Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson: "I must say that was the most difficult game we have had all season. "I think it is a significant result, pariticularly scoring late on. "Ronaldo just kept going and deserved to get the man of the match. "Credit to Fulham, they never gave use a moment to settle. Fulham will feel very aggrieved with the result."

With all due respect OneAaronLennon, you certainly dont come across as one who is qualified to comment or pass judgement on all things AVFC. Your knowledge of our club seems extremely limited, resulting in you making such outrageous and laughable comments as 'Young and Carew looked to have started off well but have faded over the last few games'. O.K. you went on when challenged to retract your amusing offering, but one has to wonder what on earth possessed you to utter such an observation in the first place?

Thank you for giving me respect glensider but i have been a Spurs fan far too long to have extremely limited knowledge of the club. All i was trying to say is that 10 million being spent wrongly on a prospect with little prem experience is something even Chelsea won't do!!! i don't know, maybe Villa have the cash to throw around at the moment but everyone knows that 10 million was far too much money for Ashley Young and in my opinion, i do not think that it would prove to be a good buy. Don't get me wrong, Ashley Young will get better with experience but he is more of a 4-7 million player rather than a 7-15 million player. That observation was aimed more towards Ashley Young, let's give John Carew time to adjust to the pace of the premiership.
