Bardsley Impressed With Aston Villa

Phil Bardsley seems impressed with his time at Villa Park saying the club is moving in the right direction and has the right manager in Martin O'Neill.

The 21-year-old right-back said: 'Villa are going in the right direction. The manager has come in and done a great job. He did have some limitations in terms of players at the start of the season. But new players have come in and hopefully they will gel quickly. I honestly believe Villa are moving in the right direction and I think it's time that Villa, with the stadium hat they have, are moving forwards. It is an unbelievable stadium.'

'The training ground they are building here is amazing, the players they are bringing in? I am happy to be here. I am really happy and I think we will be pushing for a European spot, even this season.'

I'm getting dizzy with all these positive comments, and bugger me if there aren't more......!

'It has been good so far and I'm really enjoying myself at Villa. I came here to play first-team football, but everyone is here for that. Just because I came from a club like Manchester United, it does not mean I don't have to fight for my place. I have to work hard to get into the starting XI and that's what I'm doing. Being at a club with a player like Gary Neville ahead of me, that makes me appreciate first-team football here.'

According to one of the gossip websites Bardsley is wanted by Newcastle who will offer Manchester United £2million in the summer.

It remains to be seen if Aston Villa are impressed with Bardsley though....

I certainly like Phil Bardsley's attitude though ever since the day he arrived. He's been upbeat and positive from day one. O.K. he may have a reason to be seen as a 'good guy', but he could just as easily have kept quiet. But no, he's played the club up at every opportunity, and was talking in terms of 'we' right from the get go. Agree with jonah's comment, he most certainly has to impress on the field of play though, thats the most important thing, and to date I think he's done just that. He looks the type of young player who can grow with the team, and as of right now I think he'd make a very good summer signing.

We need to see if and who is available come the summer. We need a complete player at full back, can Bardsley do it over a season, in the Premier. Manunure and The Gers didn`t fancy him ?

Well possession is 9th of the Law, of course this does not count for footballers, Interested to see how Impressed he is If Villa offer him a contract and a permanant move to the club.

Bloody Newcastle, bunch of HumBugs. They try and scupper everything we do! They are fast becoming my least favourite team in Prem, *******s! What have they ever won anyway?? Jossies Giants are about the best they had, and they were crap!

bardsley would be a good signing, but there is no reason we can't sign a proven right back as well to develop competition.

We're certainly in prime position to sign Bardsley, despite interest from Newcastle or whoever. If we cant sell the club to him in the time he's here on loan, then somethings very wrong.

With Neville currently at odds with Sir up at O.T., maybe there is a future back at the so called Theatre Of Dreams for young Mr Bardsley.
