'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Baros Bench Swap!

Milan Baros has spoken to L'Equipe of his time at Villa and says 'The first season at Villa was the best,'

But then said of the lack of ambition despite the promises made to him. Doug et al making false promises? Don't believe that for a second!

'They promised other players to build a big team. Some came but it was not enough. I was disappointed with that. Coming back from the World Cup, I knew I would leave. In the end at Villa, I didn't feel any trust. People had a different sight on football than mine. I never said anything against them, we just didn't see things the same way.'

Must have been a very hard time for him, after all, he must have only been on £20 000 a week or so. Poor lamb.

He is now finding he has swapped life on the bench at Villa Park to life on the bench at Lyon. That said, I thought he was quality so wish him luck!

'I must admit I can't understand anything. I will learn French. I have to watch how the team is playing, and wait for an opportunity. I have played abroad for a long time, I know how it works. It is not that easy to remain on the bench. I would like to play each match, I achieved good things when I came on, but that's football.'

At least the bench in Lyon is probably warmer then the one at VP :-)

From the Lions to Lyon - but the story sounds the same. Perhaps they don't have any mirrors over there for him to see the probelm

Oh dear me and he's only just removed all the splinters from his bum!

"People had a different sight on football than mine" have to agree, we can see where the net is.
steff_the_villan
Will give him 18months before he's on his way again, Wiltord, Fred and Govou will all start before him at Lyon, and deservedly so!
Stourbridge Villan
ha ha.

Who is this Baros bloke you are talking about??

Its the last chance saloon for Baros. His career and reputation is definitely on the line following disappointing spells at Liverpool and B6. No longer is he the up and coming sensation, carrying a reputation earned on the back of his European Championship achievements. He has to produce to silence the doubters. I wish him well. He and AVFC were never meant to be, and both are better off without the other. Time for both to move on.

Good business by the Villa management. Proof of course will be next season.
