Monday's Aston Villa Transfer Talk

Monday's Aston Villa Transfer Talk

Where has all the Villa transfer gossip gone? I live for rumours and speculation... Come on papers, surely you can make up a link or two to keep us going until we get some real signings!?

According to the Mirror today, under pressure Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate wants to off-load perennial miss-fit Mido and bring in Marlon Harewood. Not sure what the Boro fans would make of that, maybe he'd be the answer for their relegation fight, he certainly is no longer in Martin O'Neill's plans but obviously can't be sold until we get at least one new striker in. As long as that striker is the Egyptian Mido, we'll be ok!

The Daily Mirror also says that Manchester City's young striker Daniel Sturridge might be on his way out as he is still waiting for contract talks to re-start. Hmmm, don't know a massive amount about him but he certainly looks a good future prospect! FFS, I'm having to make up my own links now, this really isn't good is it?!

Oh and the man that makes my skin crawl at times Harry Redknapp did a great job of boosting Spurs striker Darren Bent's confidence after his miss v Pompey yesterday by gobbing off to the press: 'You will never get a better chance to win a match than that. My missus could have scored that one. Bent did not only have part of the goal to aim for, but he had the entire net - and he put it wide. Unbelievable. I was just so frustrated.' Orrible Arry. Why mention it? Well, we have been linked with the striker!

Yep great man managment from harry,Its like his ego has been bruised and he is publicly slateing his players to make himself feel better,He is the most over-rated manager in the league. If bent came to villa he would flourish.

Apparently Harry Redknapp(according to himself) is a better manager the MON and SAF!! Maybe we could offer Harewood plus cash for Downing, think him and Bent/Santa Cruz could see us push on even higher up the league!

On a different note - the links to vital pages seem to be on the blink? I'm on newsnow every day and often follow links from there to VV, but today it took me first to a chelsea page article when following the 'lucky' article, and with this one to an arsenal page...just thought I'd flag that. Probably just me... UTV etc

Would ya transfer Harewood for Mido in a straight swap? I probably would!

Not just you Mancuni, happened with me too. I'm also glad that somebody else has finally realised that Harry is a slimy greaseball who thinks he can get away with whatever he wants because "ee's a cockernee geezah". Horrible.

Good, glad I'm not just being a 'tard. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Fat 'Arry is a ballbag in personality and attitude and a ballbag in physical appearance.

I dunno slimey 'arry just seems to chase anything we're linked to.Then there is this link to him trying to get Nige Hokey-Cokey.He isn't fit to lace MON's boots the greaseball!!.I would be very happy to see Bent at VP there is no doubt he'd do well in this set up,would not be so sure about Mido think he's a bit lazy and not really our kind of player.

O'neill is doing the right thing by keeping his transfer plans to himself, every player that Harry Redknapp has said he wouldn't mind signing Mark hughes has gone out and expressed an interest! Mark Hughes is stealing ideas from everyone else, but Martin is too clever for that, he'll wait on and start spending when it seems that City have finished their ridiculous spree! UTV

Completely agree Happy, Mido is flat out lazy and i wouldnt risk bringing him into a happy dressingroom for him to ruin as he does like a moan. Bent would flourish and i would pay the 14 mil for him, if he wants shorey then id let him go and pay only 10/11. Im sure MON's got some Aces up his sleeve, just like the summer he'll wait until the last week to bring in players... still need a RB, LB, midfield cover and at least 2 strikers in my opinion though
