MON No Complaints For Red + Others On Brink

MON No Complaints For Red + Others On Brink

Martin O'Neill has talked about the red card for Ashley Young who lunged in with both feet in the air in a rather uncharachteristic tackle in the match against Sunderland yesterday. The Villa boss says he has no comlaints at all.

'I have no complaints. When I saw that Ashley was the one who had been sent off I thought: 'This is crazy.' But the referee was absolutely right. When you are going in with two feet and you are diving in, it's a sending off offence. Players can get injured like that and I have no complaints - not at all.'

Young will now sit out three games. The FA Rules state:

A Player who is dismissed from the Field of Play for Violent Conduct, Serious Foul Play or spitting at an opponent or any other person, whether he has previously been cautioned in the match or not, will be suspended automatically from all Club football, including all FTCM and all non-first team domestic competitive matches commencing forthwith and until such time as his Club has completed three FTCM

(FTCM = First Team Competitive Matches)

So according to this Young will miss the FA Cup game v Doncaster Rovers or Cheltenham Town (away), Pompey (away) and Wigan (at home). Could have been worse I guess and might give the player a rest PLUS it might push Martin O'Neill's spending plans a bit! (hey lets try to look on the positive side!)

Luke Young also picked up a yellow so he'll miss the FA Cup game against Doncaster Rovers or Cheltenham Town.

Gabby Agbonlahor, Gareth Barry and Stiliyan Petrov are all teatering on the brink with 4 yellow cards each! Ashley Young also has 4 yellow cards, I would assume that will remain despite the current suspension but am not 100% sure on that although I can't see why it would be the case and certainly can see nothing in the FA rules to argue otherwise!

lets hope citeh do gazump us for bellamy, id be mortified if he joined. Yes my thoughts are no of footballing reasons, I dont like hi attitude and think itd be wrong for the club. As for palacios, I agree Ox, he's more likely to pick citeh over us at this time I fear ane he's the type of player we really really need right now.

The time we take pratting about over our transfer deals its no wonder. We have been "on the verge" of completing the deal for Palacios for 3 days. Its the same old Levy caution and reluctance to play ball, or the asking price, or HP arrangements, we deserve all we get, he justs prats about. There are clubs who express and interest, make a realistic bid, get it accepted, madical done, personal terms, all over in 48hrs, a la Aston Villa, we just prat about until somebody else comes in, it happens time and time and time again. Levys idea of urgent is, within this financial year.

I'd be very happy to have both players. Word has it that Spam just wont let Bellers join us but we shall see. Lets face it we wont win any bidding wars with citeh so it may well be that Palacios goes there - but not sure why they want both Palacios and De Jong - it could still be manu or even the goons that are interested in him or just bargaining tactics by Wigan. I think if we have offered about 14m for Palacios, thats ample for a still relatively inexperienced player who has produced at one club. I would be disappointed if we lost Palacios because our reported 14m offer wasnt really one - ie spread out over a long time and with all sorts of strings attached. I really hope we have some other irons in the fire and we arent relying on these.

I'd happily drive Bellamy to City if he needs a lift! If Harry wastes 12 million on an injury proned 29 yearold with a bad attitude i for one will be gutted. Shame about the other guy tho as he looks to be just what we've been missing for years.

Agree with you Ox but it is verging on the ridiculous at this stage Levy's reluctance to get the deal done trying to squeeze more out of it is becoming a national joke. We really needed to have this done and dusted 2 days ago!!!!!!!!!
