What Is Success This Season? (Poll Results)

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Gareth3

From 4th, where do Villa now have to finish to consider the season a success?

No pressure for Martin O'Neill and the team but it seems the majority want at least 4th place! 47% voted 4th.

34% voted 5th. If we continue to improve (and 5th would be an improvement on last season if my maths are correct!) then that will be great, but I am sure all involved, especially the players who are giving so much and trying so hard, would be gutted now the expectations have been raised with our time in the top 4.

9% said 1st will be where we need to be for the season to be a success!

That left:

3rd (5%)
6th with UEFA (3%)
6th with no UEFA (1%)
2nd (1%)
7-10th (0%)

Getting Barry to sign a new deal would constitute a successful season. It would probably mean that we have finished in the top 4 and have signed some interesting new players.

I'd agree with that Steve, good call. Either that or we've sold him for 18m and that gives us just about enough cash to buy Kaka's left testicle.

Didn't see that Poll but I'd go for 5th, 4th is a big ask and with our squad can't be expected. Obviously we need to aim for the top, there's no point going for any less now we've got this far but I still think consolodating UEFA will be a success. Considering how well we've done so far, if we stay there or there abouts regarding the top 4 I think it will be much easyer for MON to get those quality players to come here. Its clear with a couple of quality additions we'll be very close to Champs league quality.

I chose 4th. 5th is what is expected so 4th or higher is therefore success.

How anyone can say we need to finish anywhere above 4th for it to be a successful season is beyond me! Surely 4th would be a success? People are either being silly or are just plain daft!
