Roberto Canella Link Rubbished By Villa

Martin O'Neill has blasted the rumour that Villa are after Roberto Canella.

O'Neill said: 'There is no substance in the story whatsoever.'

MON did however not say that 5 strikers were expected to sign within the next five minutes. Cool.

anybody else get the feeling that come around the 30th of january, where all gonna be on here bleeting that we've not bought anybody then MON will sign somebody completely off the radar?! and that'll keep us quiet till the end of the seaon!!! martin has a different way then, say harry redknapp who just says i want him, dont matter the cost. MON reminds me off an east end market trader, i think his buyings class..............except harewood :p

So he has denied this bid and the upson link, what about the other 72 links, is he gonna come out and deny them? Or will see nearly 100 new signings before feb? Why does he deny 1 or 2 signings that are meerly papertalk? I dont know any manager who does it, and why doesnt he deny the other thousands of links?

Maybe he doesn't want our current defenders (or another possible target) to get concerned/distracted that they are falling down the pecking order?

This Roberto Canella rumour was always a strange one though, hardly an MON type target. It does make you wonder though exactly why these agents release these srories into the media, specifically naming a club whose supposedly interested in their client, knowing full well that the surprised club will issue a denial at the earliest opportunity.
