'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Milner Defends Tony Mowbray

Ahead of our clash with Albion, James Milner has said we must be on our guard and he has praised Tony Mowbray for continuing to play the game in the right way.

Speaking on the official site Milner explains that Albion have been improving of late and given the fct this is a derby game and anything can happen, we have to make sure we don't help their revival and lose unnecessary points.

'West Brom are battling for their lives and have shown signs of recovery in the past few weeks - with good victories over Manchester City and Tottenham.

'They have been playing good football too - and fair play to them for that.

'Their manager has been getting stick from certain quarters about wanting to play football in the right way and suggestions have been flying around that you can't stay up by playing like that.

'But all credit to him for sticking to his beliefs. The lads will be enjoying playing that way.

'It should be a good day for the supporters - with two teams wanting to play good football.

'It will be tough though - derby games always are.

'They are great occasions to play in. We managed to get a good result at the Hawthorns but that was a tight, tough game and I am sure this will be no different.'

Think the baggies fans would like a few scruffy wins though!
The Fear
Agreed Fear, when you're down there it's the wins that keep you smiling for days afterwards not the style of how you lost. Mind you, it's about time Villa payed a bit better, we're the ones who have been winning "ugly" lately.

Its a local derby, and will no doubt be a typically hard fought close affair, with little seperating the teams at the end of the ninety minutes. We should shade it, probably 1-0, but I'm certainly not holding my breath. They will no doubt have their loanee from the Arsenal in their starting line-up, young Jay Simpson, and he will no doubt be extra keen to put one over us, after signing a new contract at The Emirates just prior to his temporary move to The Hawthorns.

They've drawn on their last two visits to Brummagem B6, so while our results at The Hawthorns of late have been pretty impressive, there is definitely room for improvement in results against The Throstles when they come a calling. Both sides need the points for very different reasons, so it should be quite an interesting meet-up.
