Aston Villa FA Cup 4th Round Draw

Aston Villa have been drawn against Cheltenham Town or Doncaster Rovers away in the FA Cup 4th round.

Suppose I should mention sponsored by EON as well as the FA are kind enough to allow us to show the fixtures, something the football league people won't allow without greedily expensive license fees (which appear to contradict a European Court of Justice ruling anyway!)

Full draw:

Liverpool v Everton
Southampton/Man Utd v Tottenham Hotspur
Hull City or Newcastle Utd v Millwall or Crewe
Sunderland v Blyth Spartans or Blackburn
Hartlepool Utd v West Ham Utd
Orient or Sheff Utd v Charlton Athletic or Norwich City
Cardiff City v Arsenal
Portsmouth or Bristol City v Histon or Swansea
Chelsea or Southend v Ipswich Town
Cheltenham Town or Doncaster Rovers v Aston Villa
WBA or Posh v QPR or Burnley
Torquay United v Coventry City
Kettering Town v Fulham
Watford v Leicester City or Crystal Palace
Derby County v Nottingham Forest
Birmingham City or Wolves v Middlesbrough

To be played over the weekend of January 24th and 25th

YOU'RE AWAY, WE'RE AT HOME ANY CHANCE OF A SWAP!

Anyone remember us getting well beat the last time we played at Doncaster...?? 3 - 0 if I recall. Far from easy.
AMS78
you'd not want a journey to Ipswich Merlin!
The Fear
We owe Doncaster one or three i'm thinkin ,,,,,,,,

3 days before our trip to Pompey, could have done without it if we fail (as expected) to buy any players during Jan. And Merlin, you guys have got to beat Southend yet !!!!
Villan444
Villan 444 where did you get your info from that we wont be buying any players in the transfer window? Cheer up chill out have faith in Mon.

I have complete faith in the Master and am confident that we would finish top 4 if we have no injuries or cup runs to contend with BUT Carew, Laursen and Cuellar are all out already for God knows how long. Plus we now have 2 cups to deal with. If we didn't have the FA cup game coming up, we should be able to get everyone ready to beat Pompey quite easily. We also have Chelsea at home 3 days after our UEFA cup game. Even if we do get a couple of players in, they will take a month or so to adapt and gel etc. Then you need to worry about who they will be replacing and whether they will upset a happy dressing room. Just think overall that we should be focussing on the League and give the Uefa cup the same respect from the previous couple of games where we play the fringe players for the first leg and bring the superstars out in the second. We need to walk before we try to run.

Surely lightning wont strike twice if we have to travel to Doncaster? Decent enough draw, we've avoided the big-boys, and you need the luck of the draw to help you out if you fancy a decent cup run, which I do.

Correction there AMS78, we didn't play last time we were up at Doncaster. We were outclassed from start to finish. Humiliated. We never turned up.

I too, was hoping for either Wolves or Small Heath. Oh well, guess we can look forward to playing ManUre in the 5th round.
