John Carew Making 'Good Progress'

John Carew Making 'Good Progress'

The official site have at last updated the injury situation over John Carew following a number of rumours and reports that the striker could be out for longer than feared.

The big man's agent even said he could be out until Febraury or March the other day. << Click Here For Quotes >>

Villa boss Martin O'Neill said:

'Some comments came out at the weekend suggesting John would be out for the rest of the season. That is not the case. He is making good progress at the moment, but I can't give you any specifics about what day or week he might be back. The treatment is going very well indeed and we hope he will be back sooner rather than later.'

Been a funny one this has, with little information being offered throughout his spell on the sidelines. We need him back, the big guy provides options and alternatives that we dont currently have.

Hopefully though, by the time he does return, he finds himself competing with possibly one or two new faces for a striker starting role. We need more depth and variety up front.
